Guide to a Faster Computer​

If you're like me, I have had problems with my computer running slowly. The start up would take over 10 minutes, My internet pages would open much too slowly and even my documents would open slowly. Some times the computer would just freeze and I would have to restart it. It became to getting quit annoying.

In this guide I will show you a few basic steps on making your computer run much faster and smoother.

Why is the computer running slow?


Before we tackle our actual problem we have to think why is it running so god dang slowly? Well there are many things that can cause a computer to run slowly. Your computer is constantly moving files, opening applications, sending signals and receiving signals. You might have noticed when you first got your computer it ran smoothly, but now, it's just too slow. Well one of the reasons for this might be just the fact that your computer has many cluttered up files . Think of it, You are always making new folders, new documents and sometimes some files / downloads are just there. You might have thought that this wasn't anything big, BUT these files or documents can take up valuable disk space, and the more disk space being used, The slower your computer processes information.

The brain of your computer is your processor. In some cases your processor can function too slow if it older / out of date. This is because, newer processors are made to meet todays high demanding software. For example: if you are running songs on Windows Media Player, and trying to play an online game at the same time, your computer might run very very slowly when at the same time you are trying to open a ZIP File. This could be because the processor is just too out of date.
Before you purchase a new processor be sure to talk to a sales clerk about what type your computer needs.

Lastly, one other thing that can cause computer problems is the RAM or a Graphics card. RAM is the temporary memory the computer uses to do its calculations. If your computer does not have enough of it, The applications will run much slower. And the Graphics Card is what creates colors on your computer. For example while on sythe you can see the dark background with your Graphics Card. If your graphics card is out of date, it can not only limit you for playing online games and opening files, it can slow down your computer.

What Can We do to make the computer FASTER?

Removing Un-Wanted Programs

Well you can start by removing UN-Wanted Programs. This will make your computer run faster big time if you have had left over programs that you never used but left them there.

To do this: Click Start, then click Control Panel.



Switch to Classic View if you are in Category view, and double-click Add or Remove Programs. Look for programs that you don't use anymore, click to select them and then click the Remove button to uninstall them. After uninstalling them you will not notice any immediate change, yet you Should notice change after re starting your computer.

Maintenance

Sometimes, slowdown is caused by physical problems with your PC and its hardware. One example is your PC becoming too hot or Over-heated.It may be that there is a build up of dust which is preventing the cooling fans from doing their job. Your PC should be positioned in a cool place and its air vents should not be blocked.

Always turn off and unplug your PC before you clean it. A can of compressed air can be used to blow out the dust.

Doing these above steps can help, But do not forgot like any piece of equipment, hardware components can start to wear out over time and eventually they will need replacing. So always be leary on deciding if it is time you updated a part of your computer.

Remove Malacious or Adware Programs.

It is important that you use up-to-date security software to detect and remove malicious programs ( Viruses ) .

Viruses can slow down your computer BIG TIME, And cause un-wanted things to happen, some viruses can even steal your information.

Make sure you have a Security Firewall or Virus Protector.
BUT
Be careful in choosing the right one, Security FireWalls can cause your computer to slow down very much. So make sure you choose the right one
