Losing a recovery battle against a scammer, need help...

Long story short, I tried to sell this account back in 2006, gave the guy all original info and he scammed me, didn't pay for the account.
Naturally, I recovered it back later after he did some leveling on it and stuff but the shit part is that he has my original info - oldest passwords and recoveries and membership info, so from time to time he recovers it back, making the account very unsafe for keeping valuables on and what not. Since then I have spent over 10000 hours playing/botting on it.

Another problem is that since I made the account I moved to another country so I have to use proxies/VPN to recover my own account (fucked up system, isn't it?).

The worst part came this month. After the last time I got recovered I got it back and decided to get the info wiped, using the I Got Hijacked thread on RSOF. I thought it worked and that Jagex now recognizes my current place of residence as the original owner's...

But 2 days ago it somehow got recovered again, when the old recoveries and passwords were supposed to have been wiped and not work for recovering... And now I can not get it back anymore, 5 times denied, without giving any reason! Really don't know what to do, tried all sorts of info combinations, both old and post-wipe, both proxy/VPN of my old country and the current. I think the wipe fucked something up. Any advice would be appreciated.

Before you ask, no I don't have any viruses/keylogs/RATs. All my other accounts haven't been touched.

Maybe someone has experience emailing [email protected]?

The best plan of action here would be to post on the forums again, saying what happened, and email [email protected] with the current situation. In theory, they would do it the RIGHT WAY the second time.

    Good luck

    Sincerely,

    Feel your pain

try giving them the info to where the account was created.. even go as far as giving them the actual address or zip code that might work.

You'll never manage to keep this account safe, unfortunately.

Trying so is a waste of time and cash.

You didn't win anything he just decided he didn't want to recover it anymore. He can probably still to this day recover it any time he wants. If someone else can recover your account it's essentially a junk account no one can play on it without risking getting it getting recovered back on them. Move on and start over. I purchased a lvl 100 account legit 6 years ago and got it all the way up to 137 registered email with 5 years of passes and it was recovered last year by the original owner. Both of us can recover the account so it's junk. Unless you know someone at jagex you're shit out of luck.

If you have exhausted all of your options then get it banned. This will most likely make the other person give up. After a few months, use the $25 buyback from Jagex. Granted this may damage the account's stats but if you cannot win the recovery battle this may be the only option.

Sorry if this is "spamming" your thread, but what does e-mailing [email protected] do? Because I'm trying to get my old main account back, but can't remember any of the old passwords, creation date, nothing, as it was years ago. And it got hacked :'( Anyway, you'll probably just have to keep recovering it.

I can confirm emailing the [email protected] email does nothing. All they do is reply saying that there was not enough evidence to prove it. Im speaking from personal experience.

Losing a recovery battle against a scammer, need help...

    Update on my situation:
After using the computer of a friend who lived near my account creation place on teamviewer and still getting denied 9 times total I managed to recover the account with an odd combination of info.

I would be eternally grateful if someone had any valuable tips of securing the account from the hijacker forever. It seems that the "info wipe" which was supposed to be done after I posted in the thread on RSOF didn't take place after all because I was using my oldest information for recovery.

In other words, the recovery system is fucked beyond words. More and more often legitimate original account owners are getting denied access to their accounts in favor of hijackers.

The best information I can give you, is that attaching a credit card number to an account puts dollar signs in Jagex's eyes. On the other hand, hit-and-quit memberships like PINS and cards don't have the same effect.

Simply by paying for membership with a credit card definitely gives you the edge, and has been successful for me in the past.

I always paid membership with credit card, didn't change anything.

I already told you, there's no way to secure this account from the original owner.

Well there was a trial thread sometime to reset your info.

I guess there's still a thread to post on, but they don't message you with a confirmation if they actually wiped your accounts info =\

The thing you can do is make a thread in account help on forums, bump it daily. But they'll probably just say 'we'll move this on to a more relevant team' and you'll never hear from it again =\

Yea something along those lines is probably my only chance...
I sent a pretty detailed letter to [email protected] earlier too, probably no use.
All I really need is for them to wipe the original info off the account to keep the other guy out forever, isn't it?
