Close UE applications(FOR NOW!).

We have many user educators, and it's getting to the point where people put together a guide that took hardly any effort to write in the hope that they will be accepted.

IMO, I think many of them are doing it for the UE title in their username on sythe.

I also noticed that many of the recently accepted user educators have not written further guides since their acception.

The only genuine UEs out there who put hard work into their guides are people like Bootylove,Macroman,WTP,The Dark,JP,MCR etc.

This is why I think we should close UE applications for now.

OR: If the UE applications will not be closed,my suggestion: Make it harder to become a UE, much like the long process to becoming an official sythe middleman. This way people who are accepted might be more serious about the job.

But ya there are a lot of people who are applying and have no real intentions other than getting the rank, we try though to keep those people out of the UE but recently things have been screwing up and the people that got accepted should have been denied and the people that got denied should have been accepted. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Macroman and I decided to make it as if it was old school user education. They will need to spend 2 weeks + minimum for their applications.

That's exactly what people did when there was the User Education the first time around. Except, there was an actual rank image, so there were more people.

A shitty sig too. Im just in BC for another week now, so I wont be writing another guide till then. Also, I do not care who gets in, as long as they use proper grammar.

Quality not quanity. Five guides is needed to apply, though.

Ok, I just would like people to do their jobs and not for just some title.

 

Louis, explain to me why it matters so much to you. Yes, maybe a few people applied to receive the rankings, but so what? Other people want to become Official MM's, for what? I mean yeah its nice to have a rank, but you have a responsability that comes with it.

 

Some people are doing it for the rank ONLY, and have no intention of putting work into making guides. However, people go through a long process to become an official MM, and therefore normally turn out to be a good official MM.

 

Why even suggest to close it? It just reopened and now you want it closed again? First of all let people right their stupid guides and submit them, they are just wasting there time because we have mod's who overlook the forum and decide whether the guide stays or goes.

 

Eh, I'll post my two cents. I don't think that UE applications should be closed for now. It'll just further delay what you were talking about in your post. Macro and Bootylove and making it relatively harder, plus the UE team can usually sniff out the good from the bad.

Don't close them, but make it harder to get in, because you get people who just want the Usertitle for it. And make the guides have to be useful, because I've spent the best part of 2 weeks trying to think of a guide that would be useful.

Well to be completely honest, if the guide isn't useful, the UE team can typically tell that during the pending portion of an application. When they vote, they check the guides and make the proper decisions that will benefit the UE team and Sythe community.

Also if you are having trouble thinking of a guide, go to the Help/Request section of the UE forum. Find something that people are curious about and make a guide from that.

I'm not for or against a harder application process. It just means that once I do get in (and I am determined to do so), it'll be that much more rewarding. Plus, the more guides I make, the better I'll become at making them.
