Permission To Change Thread Title

Hi,

I and most likely others will find it annoying to be in the market for example and see this thread http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1295955 with the title
"HistoryLes Gold shop! Cheap Fast & Reliable .50/m[PP][WU][Mail]" and we click on it only to find that the prices have since gone up and are no longer 0.50/m. I know that you can request a thread title change but really it just gives moderates more work to do when they could be doing more productive moderating. I suggest that members are given the power to be able to change their thread title, now your main argument would be abuse? So imply a hard rule on abusing this function and hefty amount of infractions or a temporary ban.

 

Unfortunately your argument is covered under the umbrella "Staff powers for non-staff members" on the DNS list.

I don't know the reasons why users can't change their threads, but it really is not much of a hassle. If somebody's thread is misleading, then just report it and a mod will remove or change the misleading bit of info.
