American Footballs 1999 self-titled LP

Very good emo/math rock album. Emo as in "emotional" like the original genre not the new corrupted Scene shit like Asking Alexandria or any poser crap like that. This album was very influential and you can see it in emo bands today like Snowing, Footnotes, Clever Girl, Dads, etc.

 

I remember when I was like 14 I was at a friends house and we were smoking listening to this, interpols first two albums, long drive by MM and at the drive in watching skate videos for like days at a time. That and playing THPS 2 on n64.

Im not the biggest fan of the lyrics or singing in most of the music I mentioned but do enjoy the music. Stuff brings back some memories though..

Wanna hear something embarassing? TBS's first album was in my rotation at that point in time too.

 

Oh hell yeah man this is heavy nostalgia fuel. I agree that the lyrics can get a bit melodramatic and whatnot but I absolutely adore the music in the OP album. Fucking flawless.

I've never really cared for TBS but that's not really that embarrassing. You should hear some of the shit I listened to when I was 14......

 

Alot of my friends give me shit about it. Tell all your friends was alright lol. I liked/like early nfg too. Jr high music.
