So, I and my friend Polartrades got scammed by Stringcheese for a total of 150m. Everything was legit, he sent pm's, he showed proof of account, vouches, etc... But something wasn't clicking as he pretty much DEMANDED that since he "is a $200/svu donator, I wouldn't scam". After the scam, I got very into this scam he did, part of it being I was VERY upset as I've had it with these dumb scammers.
If you look up his name (swisscheese sythe) on google, somewhere in there you'll find http://www.sythe.org/account-recovery/1851084-same-issue-back-2011-a.html
Turns out the mods GAVE back the account to him? He simply just "got the account back"? Each message he was unregistered then out of random he has his account back?
I mean.. I'm confused, how did he get his account back?
I don't get it, how would he get his account back if the IP's didn't match up? Is it the first mod's fault for sending him manual recovery to his "email"?
I'm very frustrated because that 80m was pretty much my bank and is eventually leading me to quit 07 and sythe. I'm a donator on here, and I'm shocked as to how this could happen?! Do I get a refund out of this? -in no way being mean or demanding-, but..HOW?!
*IN NO WAY AM I INTENDING TO BE RUDE, BUT HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN?!
I've reached out to personal support because I have lost so much tonight I don't know what to do ;(
    :'(

    Hello,

I am very sorry to hear that you were scammed. After a thorough investigation, I have concluded that no mods have scammed you. In the thread you linked, it looks like an administrator refused to help whoever was posting requesting access. That means that the administrator did not help or change anything in regards to stringcheese's account. It is quite possible that the real stringcheese used the "Forgot your password" feature to recover his email. He couldn't do that at first, but an unrelated website problem was fixed, and now hotmail users (like stringcheese) can use that feature to recover their password. In that case he probably came back to sythe.org to make a quick buck and leave.

However, if his email was hacked and in turn his sythe.org account was truly hacked, you should definitely post the full report of this scam using the stickies so that you would be refunded if the real stringcheese comes back.

In the future, I recommend you do research into a trader before trading them. Some warning signs of a scammer include absurdly high/low prices in your favor, someone who has recently returned, someone who refuses to use a middleman, etc.

    Best regards,
    Superman
