Palestine or Israel?

I can talk endlessly about the Palestine-Israel situation, But I'm curious; Who do you think is Right and who's wrong regarding the war and the decisions that are being enforced? Please state your reason.

I agree with you, I'm originally from Palestine. I went to both territories; Palestine and Israel and since I have an American passport, I received a special treatment, It's absurd.

to him, israel rightfully exists because they "bought the house"

I want to give an opposing comparison.

what if
a) you temporarily allowed another family to live in your house while theirs was burning down
b) the family finds their home completely destroyed after and really likes your home.
c) the family asks the town counsel to give you rightful ownership of a portion of the house.
d) you, the original owners, try to force them out but are unable because they are being helped by other people.
e) your house officially becomes two separate estates, with you owning some and the family that you helped owning another portion.

does that family really have a right to that portion of your home?

 

Palestine because I can't support the atrocious Zionist movement.

I don't understand (actually I do) why the US gives so much aid to Israel.

 

I'm in support of Palastine getting a share of their land back and not being under occupation. From what I've heard, the reason Israel won't give Palastine more land is because they fear it's a threat to their countries security.

Either way, most people in the world (including Jews) are against the Zionist regime. But, I doubt anything is going to happen, especially with Israel being one of America's strongest Allies.

 

You do realize that Israel was in the area before Palestine, right? They were in the area perhaps 4000 or 5000 years ago.

On the debate itself, I'm not sure which way to go. Neither has anywhere else to go. The countries surrounding mostly support Palestine, but won't consider giving them land themselves.

 

Ok? My ancestors probably walked through Asia at some time. Doesn't mean I own Beijing.

 

Please show me proof of this.

 

No one's telling anyone to get out. All Palastine are asking is for some of their land back, to split the land up equally. Their not saying "Isreali's go die" or something.

And the reason Isreal said they won't give Palastine some "land back" is because they believe it is a risk to their countries security.

From my understanding, Palastine want the 1947 UN partition plan.

Remember the 6-Day War? The surrounding countries banded together to attack Israel. Most of the land currently in contention is land that Israel captured during the war. While I'm not saying that Palestinians have no claim on the land, it's not as simple as split it 50/50. Israel isn't exactly on good terms with its neighbors.

I wasn't aware of any cause, besides the creation of Israel. If there is another, please let me know. I'm not an expert on this subject, only have a general knowledge.

Fair enough. I must admit I would be angry if I was a Palestinian.

 

Most of you seem to be terribly misinformed. The area originates from the Ottoman empire; Palestine never existed before the UN partition plan (it was simply the 'British mandate of Palestine', populated by both Muslims and Jews). The only land Israel occupied is after wars they didn't start.

 

Your wrong, Palestine and Jordan were one country with one flag. However, Jordan became a different independent country later on. It was only until 1948 that 'Israel' occupied the Palestinian lands. I'd like to also add that Israel was never a country until the U.K got sick of the Jews and wanted them to leave as they were primarily in Europe. The U.K made Israel.

 

You forget the part where, after receiving a tiny portion of the house, the original owners gather their friends and start attacking the newcomers, who are outnumbered but somehow manage to conquer the entire house, and then give a good third of their land for the original owners to live in.

The Palestinian's life isn't as terrible as the media makes it sound. Me living in Israel during the summer and having several Palestinian friends, I know for a fact that their life is actually pretty good, and they are not needy or any poorer than some of the Orthodox communities in my area.

 

Note that Palestinian residents blatantly refused the partition plan and actually directly attacked Israel It is entirely their own fault they lost so much land. The partition plan did not go through in the end, so that the Jews actually had a smaller amount of land to begin with. The vast majority of this land (the white area on the stage 1 map) was purchased by the Keren Kayemet from the Arabs in the first place. It reminds me of selling someone an RS account, and trying to recover it.

Also, the vast majority of the land south of where it says Israel on the map, is all desert and not useful for anything.

Actually, The British left Israel because they lost India. so they had no reason to remain, since Israel was basically a shortcut to the ocean.

On a side note, Most of the Palestinians FLED because they thought they were gonna die. those that stayed are the ones who have citizenship today.
