    Stopping Bad Habits?

Hello all, I really need some help with my problem. I'm 15 & I've noticed I've been gaining quite a bit of weight & body fat because I'm lazy. I'm currently 5'10 inches weighing 150 pounds, but a few months ago I weighed 130 pounds. Ever since I've entered highschool I've started becoming lazy & started gaining bad habits. I always sleep late & procrastinate on my homework & I never do anything productive. I told myself I was going to work out to lose my body fat & get a 6 pack along with some muscles but it never happened. I told myself I'd do that 2 months ago too. I really want to stop myself from these bad habits before it gets worse, so my question is, how do you break bad habits and stop being lazy?

You need to find the purpose of it, why is it that you want to lose weight and get muscle?

Maybe to be healthy, play a sport, impress girls?

Everyone has a different point of view, but once you find the purpose or the goal, you can do anything.

For the homeworks, just think that is another thing you need to do in life, boring, yes, buy very productive, it will get you good grades and self-satisfaction.

    I hope this helped ;)

I'm in the same boat, when I was 18 and graduated high school I was 5'10" 150 lbs, and now I'm 24 and 180 and feel lazy. I've recently been working out with my roommate and doing some cardio and I've lost about 6 pounds by just eating healthier and just by not eating fast food when I've been drinking or just watch the calories in what I eat.

Laziness is something you'll have to want to overcome, the best fix for you is apart from exercising some self will, you'll need to replace your bad habits with good ones, or at least acceptable ones.

Your sleeping habit, this isn't abnormal for teens. When you go to sleep, can you get to sleep or do you just stare at the ceiling?

Your homework, well put it this way, what do you want to be in life?

Your weight is a much more easy solve. Everyday try and go for a jog/run or a bike ride. If you do that for 30 minutes daily, it will help you get to sleep earlier, it will make you more fit and also reduce your weight, and it will also make you more active.
Also your diet is very important, cut down on ALL the junk food for the next month and that alone will see weight drop. Better still try to eat fruits daily, and salads daily, they're very nutritious sources of energy with low calories. If you get to like these types of food you'll be on your way to becoming fit and healthy.
I would not suggest you go to the gym at the moment. From reading what you've said you seem like the type of person who after a gym workout will just eat some junk food, which will completely nullify the effects of your workout.

The solve for your problems is becoming more active, by riding a bike, running, jogging, even playing a sport.
The hardest part is for you to want to, that comes from within. You have to motivate yourself to want to lose weight, to want to sleep earlier, to want to get good grades. If you don't want those things hard enough, then you might as well stop now.

Motivation really is key, have someone like your parent or close friend hold you accountable for things like staying active and doing your work. Maybe get a group together to get the homework done faster.

As for staying healthy, start doing some small work out sessions daily and increase your load every few days or so, trying to do it all at once will only damage your body and make you incredibly sore. Remember motivation is key!
