    Skype is less anonymous. Surely you can create Skype accounts just as easy as Discord accounts perhaps, but for some reason people seem to stick to Skype accounts for a longer period of time than Discord accounts, so if someone scams it's way easier to recognise him later on.

    This is fair tbh, to add to that: imposter-scamming is probably much more common on discord than it is on Skype. Statistically, if Users would be distributed exclusively over either platform you'd expect fewer scams to happen. So I guess it's a weigh-off between two or three things:
    Discord: More account security + more popular/easy to create
    Skype: Less anonymity + more precedent in this community

    Most of this is anecdotal. Also, I don't think it's largely people sticking with their Skype accounts longer, more so, Skype's age in the market, and how much longer it has been available.

    I do agree with the notion that it's likely easier to scam on Discord, due to the ease in which people can change their usernames/tags. However, that's a moot point, as it's not relevant here.

    Discord is shit if it comes for trading. Contact limit is just 1000 people, I personally fullfilled that in less than 2 months, after that you can't even send requests or even messages to people who didn't add you first.
    Discord servers arent really a solution as they get taken down by JaGeX

    We aren't looking to ban the advertisement of Skype on Sythe, as it is a free market and some people do use the platform still.

    However we will be having it removed from the contact details section on user profiles along with a few other antiquated forms of communication.
