This has me really interested. I wanna build one now. I have the magnet part down, as for harvesting the electricity, it'd take a lot more supplies than I can get.
If they switched to EMF, dams would become obsolete, tbh. This is really quite interesting, and much easier than fusion.
I can't believe you are considering this. If energy can be created, so can mass I suppose; turning nothing into something. If anything, I thought you'd be the skeptic. Free-energy hoaxes have been going on for ages. I heard about this one a long time ago... and recently, it was decredited by his own hand-picked panel of scientists. If the laws of conversation of energy turn out not to hold true

I am always the skeptic. I've been keenly following overunity claims for many years, and I've seen all the hoaxes come and go. If you read a bit of scientific history, half the best inventions were called overunity or impossible before they broke into the mainstream. There's nothing illogical about conducting further research into the physical nature of things. Afterall the laws of physics were derrived in exactly this way, and are thereby on equal footing with any new repeatable phenomena discovered. If anything, I thought you'd be the skeptic. Free-energy hoaxes have been going on for ages.
In neutral fairness, the steorn jury's statement was they were given no evidence to suggest overunity.I heard about this one a long time ago... and recently, it was decredited by his own hand-picked panel of scientists.
The independent replication of the phenomenon is what this thread is about. There's absolutely nothing to get excited about here. All I see is a guy making a hoax for commercial gain (note how all his up-close demos have failed).
Not surprising; if you hold Newtonian physics at doubt, Einstienian must be some far off alien realm.I don't hold the position that mass and energy are the same thing, or even interchangeable.
I suppose the skeptic would assume hoax until documented proof of otherwise. That's not what I'm seeing here.I am always the skeptic. I've been keenly following overunity claims for many years, and I've seen all the hoaxes come and go.
Neutral fairness? How so? His hand-picked jury said there was NO evidence. No evidence, particulary from partial jury, should not be considered a statement of neutrality. In neutral fairness, the steorn jury's statement was they were given no evidence to suggest overunity.
The device wasn't documented or tested properly. This video is nothing different than the hundreds out there that "prove" psychokinesis is real. The independent replication of the phenomenon is exciting, and this is chiefly what this thread is about.
Attach it to an old bicycle?
I'm waiting for the french guy (that is actually what we call him) to do more tests first. If he confirms COP > 1.0, I'll build one to verify.
If the laws of conversation of energy turn out not to hold true, or this turns out to be a novel way pull energy from the environment, then the paradigm shift is basically unrivaled. It will be as big a leap as from the stick to the plow.
Not surprising; if you hold Newtonian physics at doubt, Einstienian must be some far off alien realm.
This of course is after hundreds of experiments where both special and general relativity have held their ground (this theory IS falsifiable).
Firstly, the thread only addresses the replication of the back-EMF cancellation effect. -- With, originally, no arguments made either way. Just a statement of the facts.I suppose the skeptic would assume hoax until documented proof of otherwise. That's not what I'm seeing here.
Neutral fairness? How so? His hand-picked jury said there was NO evidence. No evidence, particulary from partial jury, should not be considered a statement of neutrality.
Well again, this hasn't relevance to the reproduction of the new physical phenomenon in question. The device wasn't documented or tested properly. This video is nothing different than the hundreds out there that "prove" psychokinesis is real.
Yea. Seems these script-kiddies never get bored.I had a longer reply but it was lost in the ddos attack.
I'm pretty sure it's been done or at least inferred from the vice versa. That is, in both nuclear fission + fusion, a small amount of mass is lost and converted into pure energy. I suppose I'll stop at that and we can discuss this another time.Topic until another day. Really to prove mass/energy interchangeability one would need to demonstrate the formation of mass from energy
When you cut through the mumbo jumbo, you get to the conclusion that he hasn't documented empirical evidence of overunity yet.Firstly, the thread only addresses the replication of the back-EMF cancellation effect. -- With, originally, no arguments made either way. Just a statement of the facts.
Secondly, what I meant by no evidence was literally that. The jury were given no evidence, no material except a spreadsheet I believe. Steorn is completely incompetent, but generally this is referred to as a mistrial. Hence the term "in neutral fairness".
I think the better discussion here is whether or not the "new physical phenomenon" was even reproduced.Well again, this hasn't relevance to the reproduction of the new physical phenomenon in question.
I agree. When you cut through the mumbo jumbo, you get to the conclusion that he hasn't documented empirical evidence of overunity yet.

No one really knows why static magnets are magnetic. The principle of 'electron spin' is essentially an impossible fairy tale (ie electrons would have to spin faster than the speed of light to achieve the magnetic field), and thus is just taken as a root-premise assumption.
Yes, if the device was proven to work properly, this would be the next stance to take. Now of course, just like the discovery of nuclear energy, just because one apparently is getting something for free it does not necessarily follow that the law of conservation of energy is being violated.
I don't think gravity is relevant. More relevant is a zero-friction environment. My brother brought up a good point, he says it should be tried in a 0 gravity environment. I agree that, that would help with the proposal.
