A group based on religion

The same as all other religions, A lie.

They pester me by knocking at my door trying to convert me.

 

It's more of a cult than a religion in my opinion.

And I think I'd have to disagree with you with on the second part.

Religion can't be a lie because we believe without proof or existence, It's what we call faith/belief. You don't have to believe in anything, so overall - it can't be a lie.

 

They persuade us to believe in a lie.

 

Most Jehova witnesses go door knocking. Christians, I'm sure they might spread the word in town or whatever, but they want you to come to church, and experience what it's like.

I'm sure no-one can force anyone into religion.

 

Not in the United States atleast.

 

I don't find their tactics of knocking on my door to be very funny at all. Get off my damn land. If I want to do their thing with them I will go to them.

 

Most of em' just lure you so they can make $ off ya.

I think that they're actually sincere in what they do.

You can't accept the fact God created you, that's why you think everything is a lie and every religion is a cult.

I'm not here to tell my opinion/view on other religions as I have no right to do that.. But saying ALL religions are a lie is false. Don't get me wrong; I have respect for all other religions but this is my belief and I can't tell you what do believe or not, It's your choice whether you accept it or not.

 

I got into a debate with one once. I just got sick of them pounding on my door so I asked why he believes what he does.

They are smart people, they are just misled and extremely annoying.

 

Tell them you're Catholic, they haven't been to my house since I told them that.

I've had a good few debates on the doorstep as well, nothing heated. Rather interesting on all occasions; they're mostly intelligent and only doing what they believe in, and since I'm a lonely old bastard it's nice to have the company.

 

Jehova's Witnesses have got it all wrong. For example, Acts: 15:20:

"Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood."

Which means that we shouldn't drink blood, but they interpret the verse as that we shouldn't accept blood transfusions.

 

It's not that their wrong, it's just their interpretation of the Bible. That is why we have Catholics, Baptists, Lutherans, Methodists, and all kinds of different types of Christians.

 

They have a wrong interpretation of the Bible.

 

There is no right or wrong interpretation of the Bible, it's just a matter of preference.

That's like saying Conservatives are better than Liberals, neither are better or worse, it depends on your preference, and interpretation of the Constitution.

 

Sigh. Yeah, you're right. Might as well not argue.

 

From a Christian point of view, they preach false.
