Mods a little bit too much power?

I think mods like a runescape mods have a little bit too much power they can ban anyone for anything they like. I think mods in particular job like lets say Rs mods should only ban people who posted something not approved in the runescape forums. Like WoW mods also should only ban people on WoW forums. I also think some mods are having too much power like banning people if they want too or not, but I'm not saying who. (JUST CHECK THE SPAM FORUM) Like offtopics mods should only ban people in the offtopic forums. Lol I also think I'm going to be banned by this but oh well.
Well mods are becoming more like admins in some ways. Admins should only be the REAL MAIN POWER around this site.
Just a suggestion.

Also some mods are not really doing their job, some of em just post in off topic forums and chat.

 

They all enforce the same rules,
they are assigned to the sections
it does not mean they cannot go elseware.
I disagree with this,
a mods duty, is to enfore rules,
not only enfore rules in one section.

 

Mods are demigods. Their playground is whatever they are mods for

 

The Off-Topic Section is just one part of Sythe. A User on Sythe will eventually view EVERY FORUM, so your reasoning is non-existant. >_>

People post here, and they post there.. they don't BELONG to a particular Section.

What are you exactly Suggesting? Mods not work like they do?

You said Mods are not doing their jobs. Would you like to name a few? I've certainly been doing mine.

 

They can't just ban people, they can infract other people in other forums, just like any other kind of mod.

Hows he a goody two shoes...he's actually seems like the type of mod who gives alot of feedback to users and staff. Unlike some of the egotistical people around here

 

I agree with him^. What if only an RS Section Mod is online and someone is spamming or something in another section? They're not just going to sit there and let them do it because it';s not their section.

 

Mods are kind of like the police of the modern world. Would you like the police to have less power? I know your probably thinking yeah because they they hassel teenagers and shut down our parties but in reality they are helping us. Mods keep the forums clean and let other players know they can't just break the rules and get away with it. They keep all the garabage none of us want to see out of here.

 

disagree 100% the admins appointed the mods to make sythe a better place, and they are doing it... Lets say Unb4nn3d is the only mod on atm, And Johnny post a Phishing site, unb4nn3d should be able to ban him

 

I second that mods should be able to post where eva they feel like same as ban. If they are a off topic mod they are still allowed to take care of the other forums.

 

Well first of all, none of the mods should be banning anyone for a reason not put into the rules. Second of all, you really don't know who is doing what. Unless you see the mod logs you can't tell everyone that some mods just post in general discussion and don't do anything although it may be true . And thirsd of all only team leads and up can perm ban people.

 

The moderators can't "ban anyone for any reason".

If they can only ban certain people, things will be delayed waaaaay too much.
