The 300 second wait.

Hi guys. I want to suggest that you reduce the waiting time for the report post button. 5 minutes is a long time.

Sorry if this is a stupid suggestion.

First off - 392 posts in less than a month?
Secondly, 5 Mins does seem like a long time, but it does prevent abuse of it doesn't it?

 

I always wanted this removed.

 

Maybe they should make you answer a question or do one of those annoying verification things before you can do it.

 

They should lower it, and if you abuse it permanent ban if it already is not.

The fact that it is 300 seconds has made me report less people, which lets more people get away with it.

Maybe have a group of people just to answer them real quick? (Not Mods, Just people who know the rules well)

 

Lower it, if it is abused their will be consequences.

If it is decided for it not to be lowered just save the post link in a notepad file and when you have a good amount post them all at one time.

 

Umm... So... I think if it would be lowered, some people would abuse it. But the majority wouldnt. So. You could always ban those idiots that abuse it.

And Nathan, what does my post count have to do anything with it? If I was spamming, someone would have reported me multiple times. But I dont think they have... Have they ( I check the report a scammer and report a spammer forums several times a day. )

 

Here's a solution:

You find Spam from Thread to Thread. Take that Thread and Copy/Paste it in Notepad.
-Continue to add to this Notepad throughout the day.
-At the end of the day, make a Spammer Report with all the Threads discovered.

1. Reduces all the pages of Spammer Reports in the section.
2. Makes the Report a Scammer Forum more organized.

 

Interesting idea. But I suppose you need to take the link to that thread and take the post number in order for the mods to find it. Its alot of hassle. But... Maybe its a good idea.

 

I think it'd be a good idea. Recently i had 2 people spam my thread, i tried to report both but ofcourse i had that 300 second wait thing which was kind've annoying.

Problem is though, theres too many reported posts and not enough mods to read them.

Well... I am not a spammer. If I was, many people would have reported me by now. And I would have got a few infractions. Use your head!

I mean Jesus guys. I made this suggestion back in november. I took a break from Sythe to be on another forums. Now i want to report a bit on Sythe and the 300 second wait is still there. Its a real pain.

Why did you grave dig this thread. Personally, 300 Seconds is good so we can prevent people from spamming the "Report a Spammer" with reports of advertising, double posting and what not.

 

Its to reduce spam, since many people report at once, maybe change it to 3 minutes i guess.

 

If you're really that impatient, PM a moderator a link to the thread. It's just five minutes man, go look at something else for a bit. >_<

Or you could include a link to the other thread(s) needing moderation while reporting a different post. Two birds with one stone, I guess.
