Black Market Spam Infractions.

I am tired of seeing all the Infractions based on spamming with "fake" or "uncalled for" offers.

I was infracted a while back for offering $2.00 for a Blue Partyhat on Runescape Classic.

The clearly said "OFFER!" and he didn't have a starting price for the Blue Partyhat.

When you go to an auction house, and they don't have a starting bid, you can bid anything you want! I think if there are no set starting bids, we can bid whatever the hell we want without being infracted.

I am selling 2m gold. Offer

You can bid whatever you want.

I am selling 2m gold. Looking for $6.00 or more.

"I offer $3.00"

Now you can infract for the post, because it cleary states "$6.00 or more."

No. I fucking hate that waste of space and the free post counts for the idiots who do it.

This rule is one of the best - keep it.

 

If we allow that everyone will go around spamming "I offer $0.01! No I offer $0.02!", etc... As long as it sounds like a legitimate offer then it wont be taken as spam.

 

But it isn't spam. That's the thing.

 

Well. Maybe there could be an offer rule that you must big $0.50 higher than the previous bidder. And the starting bid of every object in runescape could be $1 depending on its price.

For example:
10M Price Item: Minimum bid is $2
100M Price Item: Minimum bid is $20

As long as it kind of make sense to the item, then it would be good.

 

It is. Its abused by users simply to gain postcount, because they know the offer wont be accepted. The rule isn't changing.
