Starting off with Flash?

[mahtale]

First of all, is it even called flash or does the language that flash is written in have a different name? Regardless, does anyone have links to a good site I could use to get started with it?

I had one where I made a little side scroller game. It's actually what taught me how objects work... well... more so at least.

Not what I just mentioned, but this is a site an old friend directed me to: http://www.kirupa.com/
