    Blackmarket Suggestions

    I'm not sure if this should be posted directly into Suggestions, but I thought it would get some better discussion here in the Blackmarket Lounge.

    I am personally sick of all the spam, scamming and other garbage going on in the blackmarket section of this site and I know it has been going on for a long time, but I don't think that means nothing should be done about it.

    While there are precautions people can take to make sure they do not get scammed I also think there could probably be other things implemented to help cut down on the bullshit in general.

    An example would be having a minimum post count required before you can start a thread in the blackmarket section. I don't see any reason to allow people with <30 (or perhaps more) posts the ability to start threads in selling sections. Hell they probably shouldn't even be allowed to post. I understand post count isn't a relative judge to how trust worthy someone is as they could just go spam randomly some where, but having a minimum post count requirement would help.

    Another thing to be used would be join date. Why not force people to have a month old account before they can even see the black market section. I'm sorry, but one month is not a long time to wait. There are plenty of other sections to draw users in. If one month seems too long then something like 2 weeks would seem acceptable too.

    Imagine how much better things would be if people had to have;
    1. 30 posts.
    2. 2 week old account.

    Imagine how much better it would be with;
    1. 50 post minimum.
    2. 1 month old account.

    I'm sure this has been thought of / discussed before, but the more and more I try to do 'business' (Let's put it in apostrophes because it is more like 80% scamming bullshit, 20% actual dealings) the more I think a few things should be done to improve things.

    Perhaps you should have posted this in the Suggestion forums, then you'd see the stickies which then you'd nt post this because both things you said are on the Do Not Suggest list.

    I look now and I assume the thing on that list that prevents this thread is;
    'Post count limits/requirements'

    in the thread: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=183249

    Is that correct? I'm not seeing something specifically. (It is a little cluttered to look through).

    Wrong section..I'd repost this in the suggestions section on the main page.

    If there was an age you needed to be then most people would just leave then a month or so later remember they signed up here and log in. The person not logging in until after a month would know the same as they did when they first joined.

    A required post count would just lead to spam.
