Gambling You put money up in hope to reach a gain.
Investment, again. You put money in hope to reach again.

Your "Analogy's" may say different. But your putting a risk factor in each.

So you are telling me because there is a risk in both factors that it falls under the same category? NONONO. That is false!

Investing is taking the money you have and do not need to spend, and using a "financial tool" to use that money to make more money.

Since you're offering staking services you are the "tool", therefor because investments of any kind aren't allowed on this site, neither is your service.

It's just how it is.

Investing - "Any activity in which money is put at risk for the purpose of making a profit, and which is characterized by some or most of the following (in approximately descending order of importance): sufficient research has been conducted; the odds are favorable; the behavior is risk-averse; a systematic approach is being taken; emotions such as greed and fear play no role; the activity is ongoing and done as part of a long-term plan; the activity is not motivated solely by entertainment or compulsion; ownership of something tangible is involved; a net positive economic effect results."

Gambling - "Any activity in which money is put at risk for the purpose of making a profit, and which is characterized by some or most of the following (in approximately descending order of importance): little or no research has been conducted; the odds are unfavorable; the behavior is risk-seeking; an unsystematic approach is being taken; emotions such as greed and fear play a role; the activity is a discrete event or series of discrete events not done as part of a long-term plan; the activity is significantly motivated by entertainment or compulsion; ownership of something tangible is not involved; no net economic effect results."

According to this, its only considered an "Investment" if a "Sufficient" amount of research has been done. But in most cases little to no research has been done, which in turn after Google ing Your aspects, I see Staking as Gambling, not an Investment, Whether you see it this way or not. Its Gambling.

Here is how it can be fraud
look at this video(skip to 00:15) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZ6GxypdNds
In his first stake, his opponent does not appear to be attacking him but in actual fact, his opponent is. This means that people hosting staking services that easily fake a stake with his friend but not attacking in the stake, therefore his friend will win. When the client asks why he wasnt attacking, he can easily say that is was the glitch which does not give the account the punching action

Are you stupid? Please this is probably the dumbest and most useless post of the whole thread. You've never even staked have you? Your own account will always have the animation and your opponent 0 splashes will still show up on your own account.. Jeez.

Like I said it's simple enough, don't let someone gamble with your money if you don't feel he's trustable or will use it responsibly.

Exactly what just un dude said.

And if you purposely don't attack, then you have to pay back the loss, it's as simple as that.

Lmfao, everyone knows staking is gambling dude :P. But this is investing in a person to gamble for you, because you believe they have a better rate of return than yourself (Research essentially).

I think the staff should just reply on this topic now :)

They can still attack and fix duels. Win or lose, the person investing into the service will lose money. Hence the partners offering the service and staking each other will always profit by odds. In fact the odds from fixing staking make it more profitable than dicing hosts, in terms of odds.

This can't really be contested, I could have 1-5 friends there, differing worlds, the lot, it would be so easy to do this. :)

After looking through the Other Services section, I've noticed a lot more staking services. Hell, even video owns a staking service. I don't understand why it's still banned...

How do you get to this conclusion? It's a gamble, the customer knows this. 50/50 chance.

Lol? If you win, you win - simple. You realize the stake itself is still 50/50. Who cares if it's your buddy that you're dueling, as long as you're not giving him an advantage. It's just like me going up to a dicing host and playing 2x60.

Yes they do know it's a gamble, but because you're giving money to a service to gamble for you, it's investing. Staking is and never was 50/50 lul

We're assuming maxed combats doing boxing matches.

And if those aren't 50/50, excuse my ignorance.

You're right, it is 50/50... Minus any glitches, which occur so rarely that I would still consider it 50/50.

Sorry I got it mixed up, hope you're not mad :\

This service is no longer allowed, so I'm closing it. However, back when it was allowed, I let all "investors" watch me fight so that they could see whether I won or lost

You can't really reference a thread is locked because it's no longer allowed.

It's nothing like dicing, it's an investment service. I don't see how that fact can be so confusing.

If this investment service was allowed it would be nothing to do with 50/50 there would be scams left, right, and centre and people would be flogging themselves off as staking masters. Again, 1% of people who would use this service would do so because they had no main, that figure would never be higher. Let's not be naive, again.
