Theres a HUGE difference between being strict and being outright mean, vetoed was all that needed to be said. Now he has gone and banned Alma Mater unfairly too, he was in last chance usergroup and didnt receive his last chance. They should have just kept him banned in first place rather than dangle the chance at redemption in front of him only to snatch it away. I dont support these actions at all and SOME of the staff need to re-evaluate their actions .

 

Alma's ban was COMPLETE warranted. We gave him one last chance and he pushed it with is sig.

He wasn't breaching the size limits so therefore it doesn't matter what he puts in it as it wasn't porn.

 

I understand that, however he was walking on a VERY thin line when he made a few sigs directing hate towards members and a fuck the authority type of attitude he was displaying towards the staff. None the less, it's the admin's right to ban him if needed.

 

This isn't against you trippin it's just a response to the whole situation.

Whoever banned him needs to lighten up. I understand alma could be a pest, but he wasn't harmful. We can't afford to just be banning active members because they know how to get on your nerves. If anything you should blame yourselves for letting the behavior get to you. He knew he was in the last chance user group, and therefore he knew not to directly break rules, but "he was almost there" is a pathetic excuse. Please think twice before you ban an active member who is benefiting the site (albeit in his own strange/annoying way).

 

Alma's ban will be seen by a lot of members (including me) as abuse of power if Sythe himself didn't do it personally. The perm was completely unwarranted since he never did get infracted for the actual ban (as said by FireZ).

I really hope it's reversed.

 

I agree with this completely, any issues with his signature should have been handled by making changes to the rule as to what is allowed and not allowed with signatures giving him the chance to change it and infracting/banning if he did not. Banning people for unwritten rules about signatures or god knows what else isnt fair. Honestly Almas trolling was pretty much nonexistent since his LCU induction outside of spam forum and his using large fonts (which there is also no rule against yet he was warned by Firez to not do that anymore either or thats what he told me anyways). There arent any rules to support these actions, admit it he was banned because he was disliked by staff and robbed at any chance of reform . Alma could be a turd, but he contributed alot more than a good chunk of people who remain unbanned with catching vaders, legitimate post reports ect. He was without a doubt getting better since he joined LCU and was still robbed of his last chance.

Since being placed in LCU, show me what infraction he received. It was my understanding that that was the only way for him to be banned.

Since when did being annoying warrant a perm ban? If so, I know a handful of people you could ban for being annoying.

 

I don't see it as power abuse, but the decision should definitely be reconsidered.

End of story. Maybe it'll change his whole "IM FUCKING UNTOUCHABLE" attitude. He can always attempt to pardon later on down the line.


Also, he had received at least one infraction since his placement in the LCU, which was issued by myself personally.


Another thing. You guys are complaining that we banned him for doing nothing bad. He's been nothing but an arrogant troll who's done nothing for the site aside from piss users and staff off. He acted like a fool at every opportunity he got. Look at it like this. If you owned/managed a restaurant, and someone came in and repeatedly started making a scene. What would you do? You'd probably ask him to calm down. We asked alma to calm down. He didn't. What would you then do? You'd probably kick him out. What did we do? We banned him. Like I said previously. We'll give him the opportunity to pardon when he's realized he's not "untouchable" as he claims. He needs to mature some.

 

In my opinion, when he said "He was untouchable" shouldn't really be taken seriously because come on now, it was in the spam forum.

 

His attitude and conduct outside of the spam forum suggests otherwise.

 

He was an active poster who got discussion going through out the site. Maybe he did it in his own annoying, arrogant way, but he helped keep things alive. I know it sounds a bit drastic, but moves like this are literally killing sythe. You can't keep taking away aspects of the site that keep it lively.

I personally find laptop to be annoying and arrogant, should we ban him? A lot of staff think low of me, should they ban me? Alma was a very vivacious prescience on this forum, and it really is a disservice to the site to keep him banned.

 

While you have your own opinions and others have theres, it is the method you use you express them that got alma banned in this case.

Since i read the forums, He never had a civil topic where he discussed his opinions and laid his points out, he just went around being mad and being a dick.

First of all, shut the fuck up with Alma. He manipulated, and was arrogant towards staff, sythe is a buisness, not some place where children go fuck around, disrespecting the staff on it. The idea that you guys re backing him up, is sad, that's great they lied. They're either hiding something he did, or they just didn't want him here, nevertheless; he was a PRICK.

Business? Sythe is a forum built on both a social community and on trading. The site relies on the non-market users just as much as the traders.

Also "false opinion" is an outright dumb thing to say, an opinion isnt an absolute therefore it cannot be right or wrong. Sythe is a Forum site, run upon donations. If it were a company site it would bear the .com domain not the .org domain it has. Learn what you are talking about before you make arrogant posts about a user you dont know.

OT Just release the details to the banning please, that would satiate alot of peoples issues with this whole Alma ordeal. With Firez saying there was no infraction combined with the fact he was in the LCU it appears that the ban is unwarranted and due to staffs personal issues with alma which is flat out unfair. Without any details or proof as to what happened its just going to make the staff look like they manipulate/circumvent the rules to suit their needs/desires (not liking alma is the obvious point in question)...
