Staff/CDT using their feelings instead of rules to make decisions

As an extension of these points, here were mine from the original thread:

- They should NOT be participating in events for rewards. You should definitely have some people participating in the events, but CDT members should not be participating for rewards, only to encourage participation of other members. The rewards are there to create excitement for an event and bring the general community together in a friendly competition of sorts. While CDT members are part of the community, they are above the need of being brought closer into the community; they are trying to bring other people closer into the community.
- There should've been no negative 'rewards' in the first place. I understand that you want to reflect the halloween theme of trick vs treat, but that's just poor event design.
- The event requirements were not well defined. I had trouble with my pumpkin carving entry because I used some tools to help control my mouse on the online pumpkin carver, which is just analogous to using dedicating pumpkin carving tools irl. My entry ended up being accepted, but Blade's entry not being accepted is silly in my opinion.
- If youre going to require all events for the fun rank, a staggered release of events is not a good idea. All the events shouldve been prepared and released at the exact same time so participants can allocate their time appropriately without having to abide by the relatively strict timelines. Your goal should be to get as many people as possible to participate in everything they like; the fact that there was not even dougle digits of non-CDT members in the funrank raffle is unacceptable.

 

The thing about Scotty, I don't think we should judge the entirety of CDT based on his actions. Probably best to keep in mind the separation of Scotty's actions and CDT's general image, even if some believe that Scotty is a very poor addition to CDT/ CDT can improve.

If they remove him? Yes, absolutely we should just assume this is an outlier case. From the things we've seen today (and, because of this, looking back at Scotty's Sythe history) we can assume he will immediately be relieved of status.

Your post was constructive in the sf and spam here lol switch them pls, don't stoop to his level or show him the attention, it's what he craves, it's these spicy comments that bring people like that back and give them the satisfaction.

@Ilovela unfortunately I think you're right. I could remake the thread or staff could clean it unless there happens to be another rogue CDT member, lol.

Eh, I think we need to redirect our focus back onto the topic at hand. Hopefully, the attempts to derail this topic will be dealt with soon, not that I have any personal malice towards the user.

 

Wasn't meant as spam, just really wondering what the purpose is of his behaviour. But like I said in the previous thread, why doesn't feedback from ex-staff and concerning old chaps being taken seriously? They are the guys that build the site to what it is now and have a heart for it, want to keep it glorious. When people in 'function' keep spamming dumb shit that doesn't contribute.
A doctor doesn't say everything he thinks or feels to his patients because that's unprofessional and can get you cut off the job. Same thing happens/should happen here, right?

 

I don't think it's fair that we can't participate for prizes. We may create events but the public still votes on things. Why wouldn't it be fair to get the chance to win something if it's an equal chance for everyone who put in the effort?

The negative tricks were minimal and it's been done before. However, I'm sure we can take this into consideration for future events & raffles.

We already discussed being more specific in the future, the do's and don'ts, what DQ's entries, etc.

All events had plenty of time to complete, even if the releases were staggered. I'll mention this suggestion to the rest of the team but I personally don't see it as necessary.

Well, Scotty is a part of CDT so he actually does have a play on our image.

I am currently speaking to Scotty to see if we can reach a resolution. Thank you for your notice & feedback about his behavior.

Look guys I am an idiot, I admit it. But don't think badly of me because of it.

 

Of course the organisators of an event cannot participate in their own event for prizes. That's common sense, right? Could be rigged, could be unfair, no1 knows what happens behind the scenes. You want to prevent that, right? With that being said, just think about the hassle it's currently causing. Just organise the events because you like them, participate all you want but don't acknowledge yourself for the prizes...
