[STACK] Tags

Hello.

I've entertained the thought of suggesting this, but have been uncertain whether it would be able to code it into the forum default.

I am suggesting we added [STACK] tags to the forums. Including these will increase the variety of thread layouts available to be made by members. Especially those unable to afford a Graphics layout, or simply enjoy using their BBCode skills to create intricate layouts.

[STACK] - Would add text under the current line.
[STACK="1"] - Would be the top line of text in the same line, slightly adjusted to the top.
[STACK="2"] - Would be the bottom line of text in the same line, slightly adjusted below.

If using STACK [1,2], the lines of text would stack using the forum default size "2".
If using STACK [1,2,3], the lines of text would stack using the size "1".

The maximum allowed stacks in a line would be "3".

Here is an example of how it may be used in an MM/OMM thread.

DEFAULT TEXT LOOK:

MSN: Provided in PM only

TEXT LOOK USING STACK TAGS



In using these tags in an MM/OMM thread, the user has made it easier to spot "MSN" for the user, as well as giving the thread a much more organized look.

If this cannot be coded in to the forum default, I apologize, but feel it would be a great addition to vBulletin.

I support this, I would think lots of people would use this and it would look nicer too.

 

It does look quite neat and professional, and I can't see any other downsides. So if it can be added to the forums hassle-free, support.

 

I support this, would be beneficial and you make good points as threads would look much much neater.

Either way Im indifferent, not necessary or needed but would be a nice addition

 

I support; I love professionalism, this would be something I would use constantly when making threads.

 

I could support this, I don't see anyway it could be abused such as quote tags, and it would help people with thread layouts.

Considering this is a market based forum, additions like these serve to help a lot of people make their threads look nicer, and more professional.

Seems a little complicated for the basic forum post; but it would help those that didn't want to use GFX for their threads. As long as it won't take forever/won't cause any trouble then I support.

It's a suggestion, and actually a pretty decent one. I'm glad he bumped it.

 

This was suggested whilst I was inactive. It's a great idea, and could be applied to many different threads.

 

I don't see the necessity for it, it's just aesthetics in my opinion. You can accomplish the same effect (like you did in your OP) by making it an image, at which point you could hyperlink the image if you wanted it clickable.

Still though, I don't see why not either. Support.

 

Quite a few people aren't savvy with Photoshop or other graphics programs. This gives them a chance to do something sleek and professional themselves. Support.

 

I'm down. If its easy to implement this, and gives users whom dont have graphic capabilities or dont feel like purchasing graphics a chance to keep organized and professional.
