    Damage has already been done lol removing it now does nothing to better the integrity of the game. All it does is irritate the players, like myself who don't have 12 hours a day to camp NMZ.

    I don't understand why people are saying "it's too late". It's never too late to fix bugs.

    This is obviously too late, when half if not majority have utilized this to all benefits. And it wasn't a bug, @ Ghast, if it was it would of been resolved when first known, but they allowed it for a few years. They simply disliked the afk-ness of it all.

    They've clearly cut off a great money sink - nmz, does it eliminate the botting aspect. Splashing however was minimal costs if you wanted it to be.
    Lets hope sailing comes in, that'll be a money sink I hear.

    Well... I got ma 1-55 Splashing (not afk), alched the rest to 69, that's all I needed.

    A software bug is an error, flaw, failure, or fault in a computer program or system that causes it to produce an incorrect or unexpected result, or to behave in unintended ways. There is a reason why they fixed this without a poll, and they only do that for bugs, or other minor fixes/modifications, e.g., quality of life updates.

    They kept it around for a few reasons:

    1. They made more money off accounts produced solely to utilize these methods.

    2. They polled it's removal, and it didn't pass for obvious reasons (many people wanted to abuse it at the time because it became publicized at a widespread rate).

    3. They wanted to collect data to see if it would heavily affect their revenue/profits.

    To say that it's too late to remove something that wasn't intended initially is ridiculous. This was patched in RS2 for the reason it was patched in oldschool.

    It is too late. If they decided to patch it now, without secondary poll to question it and just did it of their own accord now, a long time after the first poll was denied. It is too late. They could of patched it if it was a bug without the need to poll it and ask us about it. It is not a bug because it was not patched at first (even though they knew about it) and it is definitely too late because the impact of splashing /afk NMZ is already done.

    Edit: For instance, the token bug/dupe, they don't know what it is, so they cannot patch it. That's the difference.

    Edit2: If you're saying its a bug and they patched it now, then you're saying they allowed thousands of players to abuse a bug. Right 'cos Jagex allows that, doesn't take years to collect data to tell whether its better income.

    I guess semantics are meaningless to you.

    They've acknowledged it as a bug for the longest, but the magnitude of it (exp rates) were so low that they decided to poll it's removal at the discretion of the community, and for reasons of obtaining higher revenue. Mod Mat K publicly reiterated this all the time on the oldschool reddit.

    Why do you think they decided to remove it now, and without a poll at that?

    1.) Removing it made them lose money then?
    2.) The polling of it was not the right move. It doesn't even make sense to poll a "bug". As you can see, polling did nothing as well, they removed it without the poll not being passed.
    3.) Let's take 2 years to collect data on this

    I'm not disagreeing with Jagex decision to remove it, but it was VERY stupid of them to leave it in the game so long.

    Jagex fucked up and left it in for too long, they could've collected data way sooner and realize they weren't going to lose that much money. Instead, they decided to leave it inside the game, wait nearly 2 years (by now even more people is used to splashing) then finally remove it WITHOUT letting anyone know beforehand. In matter of fact, they didn't even include it in their update notes, it's truly terrible how jagex can't admit to their mistakes.

    The XP rates were not too low if it was left in the game for so long. Many people reached high magic or combat skills off this method with minimal effort.

    You're right in some ways about how it's never too late to fix a bug, but jagex way of fixing this "bug" was terrible.

    It keeps you logged in, but unfortunately it is still stopping you from fighting back after 20 minutes :(. Of course using an autotyper (3rd party) bypasses this but it being considered a form of macroing kind of makes me paranoid about it all

    You can still do NMZ. Do MTD NMZ via the absorbtion method and use an auto clicker to pray flick, you can afk for 1 hour at a time
