Speakers on laptop help!

So, recently I have been using external speakers for my laptop. But, occasionally on pandora, youtube, or whatever, they just won't work. I am using an Asus laptop...Not sure if there is a fix for it, but if anyone knows anything about the issue, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

 

Try googling your speakers model to see if there are any new drivers etc out for it that will fix this problem.

 

Does it only fail to work with your Laptop? How about if you plug them into your T.V/Phone/iPod? If the problems still persist it's a hardware issue, probably something with the chord. When it stops working, if you fiddle around with the chord connecting the speaker to the Laptop does it start to work again?
