Well for those of you who dont know, there was a glitch with the ring of wealth whereby the effect of the ring of wealth stacked multiplicatively in multicombat areas. Though the glitch was short lived, it was massivly abused. a team of 10 people all wearing rings of wealth was enough to multiply the probability of a sigil drop at corp by such an extent that we were getting sigils every 1/2, 1/3 kills. Once we figured out how it worked we got a team of 15 people or so and this was enough to guarantee a sigil drop almost every kill. I personally found about this glitch 40 minutes after the ring of wealth update. I immediately assembled a corp team (also glitching team) as i figured out it woudnt be long before this glitch was patched.


I coudnt believe it when the first kill was an arcane. ls had kicked in for the whole team now and we got a sigil next kill. Immediately i ordered my team to regear in vesta/ bandos and get statius hammers and overloads. this was about 50 minutes into the update. We switched to coinshare and we got sigil after sigil after sigil. We managed about 17 kills in next 11 minutes ( remember we were a 15 man team of maxed combat players with overloads + turmoil + vesta/bandos + stat hammers)

After this point jagex hotfixed the glitch IMMEDIATELY, barely an hour after the update happened. we made about 5.4 bil approx i think which is pretty shit amongst 15 people only about 400m each. however i lsed the first divine so not a bad haul for 20 mins work.


Corp 24 7 , a corp mass team run by mate also looted like 10 sigils or so and apparently got a max streak of 7 in a row, multiple clans got fuckloads of sigils, my mates over at Brutality got multiple sigils, my fuckhead of a brother leaked it to them.

Some teams got as high as 18 sigils back to back , every SINGLE kill and there was a corp team on dozens of worlds abusing the glitch.

I heard reports (with screenshots) of people sniping divine sigils at 140-300m on ge.

I was worried about getting banned as I was one of the people who leaked it( i did so aware that it would be patched ASAP and not a glitch that would last, and i only told mates) and had abused it significantly.

As soon as the general public of rs found out of course there was a huge ruckus.

"Today, there was an unfortunate bug with some of the ‘unique boss monster drops’. This caused some players to experience very generous drops for a very short period of time.

The bug was fixed as soon as we were made aware of the issue and was limited to a very small number of players. It only affected those using lootshare or coinshare in specific environments against specific bosses and only for a very limited period of time.

We have considered a rollback and manual wealth reduction but will not be performing either due to the tiny number of items and players affected by this update.

We will not be issuing any bans connected to this bug. This is due to the nature of the bug and the fact that we introduced an update this week that was supposed to affect these rare drops – players ‘expected’ it to be more generous and cannot be blamed for the actions taken around this time.

The effect on the market is limited, and, although this may have an effect on the Grand Exchange and player markets, it’s likely to be short-term only. The increase in sigils on the GE right now, for example, is negligible (with no significant increase).

There are a handful of accounts that gained a large amount of wealth, but this is not enough to justify rolling back all player activity since the update. We agree, it’s not fair that only a few had a chance to experience this ‘generosity’ but we feel it’s more unfair to make everybody experience a rollback. Rollbacks would not only cause everyone’s game experience since the update to vanish, but would also cause 2 hours of offline time (as per the last RuneScape rollback). "


I lolled when i saw this post and knew i woudnt be banned/reset. Mod mark has no idea, although the impact on long term sigil prices may be negligible, the vast quantity of sigils that were brought into the game were not "tiny" by any stretch of the imagination.

Lots of people rage qutting/ calling for bans because they didnt know about it. lol @ them, gl getting jagex to give a fuck.

oh and gf woox16 and all you other OTG faggots who think theyre pro. The sigils your whole clan got in 2 years i got in 20 mins.

I found out about this right after it was patched. I was pissed because I just finished getting 99 pray/herb in order to start camping corp. Oh well. I still have my gold shop

 

Man, I am so upset I missed this glitch. I always miss out on the good money making opportunities.

 

yeah, mark is an idiot, i have personally talked with him on multiple occasions as he knows me because i pop into his cc a lot to insidiously criticize his pathetic decisions as ceo.

I went into his cc after reading his post, knowing i woudnt be banned and gave him my gratitude for jagex's generosity with the RoW update, and for the divine i got.

His bitch, Julie a silver star in his cc promptly kicked me.

yeah hate Of the Gods, they only reason they claim to be the #1 pvm clan in rs is the maxed 120 dungeoneering prods with no life are mostly pensioners with nothing to do after retirement except play runescape.

Heres a video from my mate in brutality of 7 back to back sigils in a row. mines more epic (17) but will be uploaded later. i probably was the first person to find the glitch, but several others found out very soon, thats why i let my friend in brut and my glitching team and lots of other mates in on it. i knew it was going to get patched very VERY soon. I mean once open cc corp masses like corp 24 7 found out, there was no stopping its spread. i despise leakers and carefully considered the cons of spreading it but i realised that it was far beyond my control. not exactly the most subtle glitch.

 

Why didn't you guys do this at nex?
