Koobface-Weird

Has anyone ever heard of the virus called Koobface? If you haven't look it up online. Tell me what you think on it. In my opinion it is the wierdest virus ever. I read and it says it basically hijacks your pc.

I was talking to my friend on Facebook. Then i look and on my wall there's a link to a video from my friend. I click on a link and it leads me to some Youtube site where youtube is spelled "yuotube". I click on the video and it doesn't work. It says I need Flash 32.

It says click here to install Flash. I click and a warning window pops up saying virus. I click exterminate and go to my profile. I say "what the fuck man it's a virus, delete your post. He says "I didn't post anything what are you talking about," and logs off.

2 hours later I get a bunch of messages from friends telling me to go to some random weird sites. I ask them what are they talking about and they say they didn't post anything. Then it started popping up weird pictures on my computer saying "haha" "gotcha" and stuff like that. So i look up the flash 32 thing or 34 something like that. I then discover koobface.

I download spy ware doctor, get a free key from some guy online. Then I scan my computer and get a bunch of viruses, plus a virus called koobface. I permanently quarantine it and delete it from my computer.

That sounds really stupid... and a shitty virus to have also.

 

It's a very crazy virus. It basically hijacks your computer and when your on Facebook it somehow sends messages to other people making them get the virus if they click on them. I got rid of it with the handy spyware doc

 

It's what people do on facebook. That's why I avoid clicking links.

 

The people don't do it, the virus does.

You get the virus and it's hidden in your folders when you don't even know it. Unless you have anti virus.

You go on Facebook and start talking to your friends. When you don't even know it the virus messages your friends to go to some links so they get the virus.

That's what happened to me. My friend didn't even know what I was talking about when I said that he posted a link.

When you get the virus you also start getting weird messages from friends telling you to go to certain sites.

 

Get Avast it's really stupid to not to have it.
I've never gotten a "FB,MS" virus.
I strongly recommend you get Avast and boot scan.

 

I advise you download malwarebytes anti malware also just to be sure, some virus scanners dont catch ones others do pick up

 

Funny that you posted that I was planning to edit my post and say the exact same thing.
Also SPYBOT S&D is really good with that kind of stuff.

 

I actually used the best scanner available that can actually remove the viruses for you easily. It's called spy ware doctor. It's really beast. I did a normal scan and caught koobface. :laugh:

Then when I did a full scan I caught some viruses that I didn't even know I had like advertisement viruses and all that small bull crap that basically has no effect.

Plus my Anti Virus systems aren't alerting me that I have any major viruses. Plus my computer isn't acting weird or anything. I also got the fast speed back.

 

Koobface and a lot of MSN and Facebook viruses are actually linking you to botnets.

 

I've had this happen to me but on MSN. It would send me links to those webcam girl sites.

It's good that you got rid of it though.
