ATH-M50/M50X* series are supposedly very good and in your price range.

V-Moda Crossfade LPs* are also in your price range.

Zuzel let me know exactly what you're looking for - what kind of music you listen to, and which type of headphones you prefer (on-ear, over-ear, or in-ear). There are many other things I could ask about, but yeah.

*Note: I have not personally tried these headphones.

 

Over ear definitely. I mostly listen to rock/metal music however sometimes I listen to rap/pop too

 

I also forgot the UE 6000's. They're down to 89.99 on Amazon right now (after being $200) in price as they're discontinued by Logitech. Ultimate Ears -used- to be the top of the their game and I had a pair of their in-ears from years ago. The UE's are portable too, which is a plus if you plan on listening on the go.

The ATH-M50's are really nice as well with very similar perks, but are a little more expensive (119.99). The ATH-M50 will most likely require you to replace the earpads rather quickly (pleather that chips away). Both the ATH & UE's are closed back, so they're going to be a little more punchy in bass. Both have good sound stages with pluses and minuses to each.

Unforunately I don't know as much about the V-Moda's, which is why I am curious to try them out myself. Again, they're closed-back so they'll be kickin on the bass.

If you are looking for something that's a little different, I might recommend the AKG K240 series. These are semi-opens so the bass is not going to be insane punchy, but will still be present. They will also have a more clear mid and high stage than the other models. The headphones also have a detachable cable (but they are not wireless). The downside to these: They MAY require an amp to get the most clear staging from them.

Anyways, from those four you can't go wrong.

Unfortunately, you won't find too many suggestions or people that are knowledgeable about headphones here. You're better off finding an audiophile forum (I've suggested one here before) and asking there.

Most of the time they'll ask the questions I asked you - Price range/Favourite Genres/if you have an AMP/DAC already (I would guess you don't)/What the purpose is/etc. And most of them will respond with the ATH-M50 as a choice. x) It actually is one of the #1 most recommended headphones out there.

Just oredered UE 6000, I like that they're portable, not 100% sure about logitech but let's give it a shot

 

Let me know what you think about them! I'm itching to buy a pair for myself. Logitech used to not own the "UE" name - Ultimate Ears. The UE name was a premium quality headset which I ran the in-ears of - still my favourite in-ears to date. I would imagine Logitech purchased the company to have a proper backing for the audio market with a proper backing (including their Z5500 speakers). Personally, I think you're going to love them, but let me know!

 

I have some razor standard gaming headsets. You can find them on ebay, they can go for like $50-60 and they're really good quality headsets, ive had em for a year or 2 and they havnt broken on me yet, so i'd highly suggest getting them
