It depends on what you want to do really. What would you be doing with either 99 Magic or 99 Ranged. As far as I know, you can get 99 Magic while profitting by the way, alching is profitable now, at least on some items. You won't have to spend a load on that. Anyway, give me a reply to this.

Same goes for herblore, what would you do with it? If you are going to boss, I would go for Herblore, but don't get 91. I'd go for at least 94, making overloads with stews is a pain in the ass, even with 94 Herblore. +5 boosts are really rare so don't go for 91.

 

There's no shame in having questions. All 3 of those goals are very good goals, and I can argue a point for any of them. I'd need to know what you use your account for, in order to figure out which goal was more important.

BTW, +5 boosts are rare, but you can do the logout trick so that once you finally get a +5 boost you can make many loads of OVLs before it runs down. Just make a load, lobby out, and repeat.

 

Instead of just going straight for 99 you could just do a little bit of each, by rotating to the next skill when you get bored.

 

As stated, let us know what you'd be doing on your account. If your going to boss often then I'd train herb and mage.

Slayer/Frost dragons and the occasional bossing for fun I suppose.

I didnt know +5 stews were rare. I just want 99 mage/range because just about every main has them plus its a nice alternative than melee and they can be used for many different things in today's day and age of RS. Plus they arent so expensive. I mean, for the price of these I dont see any other stats around there speed and cost. Fletching is the next closest but that is slower and not as costly.

 

why not get herb, thne use your herb pots to train range and make money for magic?

+5 boosts are "rare" but it only takes about 5 minutes to get one. Then, like I said, you can logout after each OVL inventory to keep the boost indefinitely. Personally, if I were you I'd get 99 magic and 91 herblore. Ranged is a useless skill, really.

 

You can do all three if you bot.
I plan to get 99 herblore by cleaning herbs, I'm starting with 250k harralander for about 1.7m exp.
If you think it's slow, think about a bot that cleans 12,000 (upto) per hour making it very fast and sometimes profitable exp.
With harralander I'm getting about 63k/h exp but with the best herbs you can get upto 3x this.

@Kero, thanks again for that tip. and I feel you. but I dont know if 99 magic with bursting monkey skele's is faster or slower than chinning them.

And yes, half of what I have left potentially WILL be used for chinning if I choose range.

 

99 Magic at skele's is faster than chinning. However, if that's how you are planning to get to 99 mage then I suggest you just reconsider. On your budget, why not do a cheaper magic training method like Plank Make? That way you'll get 99 magic for less money, and you'll have more left over for a better herblore and/or more ranged levels.

I would reccomend going for the pots it can help training the other skills and can be rewarding

 

Plank make is about 160k xp/hr, but it's virtually free (or profitable, depending on GE prices) and very AFKable. Bursting (not barraging) is around 400k exp/hr, but it's extremely expensive. Bursting at Rock Lobs is around 300k xp/hr, and the upside is that you get hella good charms from it.

You're definitely right about magic being better than ranged. Ranged is a dead skill right now; it's only use at all is for fighting Nex, and for those lucky enough to get a Hexhunter bow.
