Small Photoshop Galley, please give CC!

I am pretty new to photoshop, these are the first 3 sigs I have made, I will continue to add to this gallery. Feel free to give requests as I am training right now and it helps to have an idea to work on.

Seventh: Entry for SOTM contest 3 for smudge tool usage. I like how this turned out for the most part.

Can you post it with a black 1p border?

 

That has a black 2 pixel border.. I guess kinda hard to see with the dark blue of sythe? Idk.

 

The background needs a bit more depth, and you shouldn't rely on a monochromatic color scheme to blend.

There are some nice elements - size, render placement, gradient usage, etc - but I strongly recommend looking up some tutorials for some ideas on how to blend, create bg's, etc.

 

Sorry, still new and I don't know what BG's means because I doubt you were telling me to look up a tutorial on a bandos godsword.

I will look into the blending thing as well. Can you let me know what it would effect? Like what blending would help in the picture?

I agree with the depth of the back ground, it looked a lot better when it wasn't right next to the Lu Lu picture I got the render from, because that pic was pretty amazing and it makes my sig look worse by comparison, lmao.

1. BG stands for background.
   
2. Blending is the way that your different elements lie on top of each other, it's a skill in itself to learn how to blend. There are plenty of techniques to achieve proper blending and you have to acquire an eye for it - in the case of your picture, it would help the way Lu Lu sits on top of the background. I think what Sin was trying to point out was that your background and foreground look as if they come from two different pictures. The point of blending makes everything fit into each other.
   
3. As for the background, just try adding a bit more detail, like Sin said try to use something other than a monochromatic color scheme, unless you've got really definitive lines, your signature will look very plain.

Your style of signature makeing isn't really common.. And isn't really creative either.
I suggest you to look up alot of tutorials and study how to do them more interesting and properly.
You might want to check out www.deviantart.com or just google for some tutorials.

 

Thanks for the comments Kina, I just posted my newest one that I made for the SOTM contest, I will check out some more tutorials. I don't know what you mean by "Properly" though, I am not a fan of the text style sigs that have been "all the rage" around Sythe ever sense you started doing them and the followers attempted copying.
