    Hey guys, I was thinking of a system that could possibly work more
    functionally and reduce the amount of spam on the forums. What I was thinking is a system that allows the thread owner to hide posts accordingly that they personally consider as spam. Giving the rights for the thread owner to decide what they consider spam instead of anyone reporting it will cut down on the amount of reports send in and could lead to many 'misunderstood' infractions. I will try put this into practice with a few examples that I will come up with.

    Example 1) (thread)

    ------------------------- Selling pure!! no swaps, PAYPAL ONLY!!-----------

    Poster: Hey man, I got a skiller that you might be interested in?? I know you said no swaps but you might really like it!'

    >>> This would be considered spam, leading to an infraction. But with the simple steps of the thread owner being allowed to hide this post it would be more efficence and allow moderating staff to concentrate on other matters that are most important, rather than petty reports. Understandably, this could fluctuate in different forum sections where more serious spam and trolling needs to be dealt with more accordingly. (I.e using the current system in the personal support forum).

    Next I will present another example where it would be more appropriate for a infraction to be put into practice.

    Example 2) (thread)

    ---@_))________ Selling obby pure! cheap!!!!! RSGP PLZ ===]~~+@~~----

    Poster: Lol dude, your account is a pile of shit, who would want this???? i'll give you 25 cents because I feel sorry for you lol.

    ////////////////////////////////////////////////

    I could cover many different situations on how this suggestion could pan out, but the overall point that i'm trying to bring across is giving thread owner a certian degree of power to hide posts on their thread and redude the amount of petty reports that waste moderators time.

    Thanks for reading, feel free to add anything to this or give your opinions on the suggestion.

    I say no to this suggestion, they could hide posts, that are saying, that the buyer/seller is a scammer.

    I liked the suggestion, but after what The Chemist said, my final conclusion would be no. Your suggestion reduces SPAMS, but increases SCAMS.

    Our current system is effective enough; this suggestion would cause more harm than good.
