dont allow in game gambling clans to advertise on sythe

clearly the gambling clans in W302 Ge that post threads on sythe should not be aloud to promote their thread, it's clearly obvious that if you are a gambling clan your bot is probably rigged now a days, so why are you allowing them to post on sythe promoting something that is most likely scamming users of their gold?

 

I support this; however, the I'm not sure this is necessarily feasible. A similar parallel can be drawn to start-up swap clans. From experience, the large majority of them end up scamming within a month or two after they start to get bigger swaps. However, you can't stop their advertisements on the assumption that they'll scam, and I feel this would be a similar situation. I would, however, believe that a sticky or some form of warning stating that in-game gambling clans running scripts are often bugged and will cheat you out of your money would be more plausible.

 

yeah fair enough, i just think it's kinda wack how someone could have a bot that is advertised as [54x2] but have it so the odds of rolling up to 54 is like 60 or even 70% in the hosts favor to win the bet. I think a simple sticky to notify people about the possibilities of what they can do would be fair enough

 

I would support a sticky like that. That seems like a more reasonable solution to the problem imo.
Either that or don't allow chats which bot to advertise themselves here, but I guess there's nothing stopping an individual going against clan rules and using a dicing bot.

 

yeah, i'd suggest to put it on the mini game section as that's where most clans like this get advertised.

Unfortunately because it's a free market, they can advertise their games; a sticky warning people games outside of Sythe might be rigged could be a good idea.

 

Again, many swapping ccs use bots to advertise. Also, there is an entire section on botting for this forum, so I don't think that would be a good solution

 

Probably the fairest way to handle the situation. New users don't always understand the concept of "If it's too good to be true, it probably is."

 

I don't believe on this forum its feasible to stop them advertising whether or not they rig bots, whether or not its ban-able in game, look at the website where on; it's a free-market for people to decide, majority of those clans get banned within the hour and simply continuously make new ones.

However I definitely agree a sticky to prevent and warn people from issues that arise from in-game gambling clans specifically would be the best solution.

 

Sythe is a free market and as such, said threads are permitted. If the clan(s) in question are found to be scamming, and can be reported (with valid irrefutable proof) - we will handle that specific clans thread(s) as deemed necessary.
