Skype help - Windows 8!!!

OK. New laptop came with Skype for windows 8 installed, in the original set up I entered my e-mail address (linked to my Skype) and now it auto-logs me on.

Skype for windows 8 is shit. End of.

So, I downloaded Skype for desktop, deleted the windows 8 app. This was today after trying to use the windows app for a couple of months.

I could not log onto Desktop with my normal Skype as it said I was already logged on. I could not end the process for Skype. Ended up having to create a temporary Skype as my girlfriend is currently out the country and it is the easiest/cheapest form of communication.

All the easy google things did not work. Someone who has experienced this themselves, please help!!!

Or will I just have to wait for the fix, same as the other thousands with this problem?

 

Deleting the app wont get rid of it, control panel uninstall that shiet

This is something you probably already tried but I'd re-download that crappy W8 Skype and login / setup autologin or whatever with a different Skype account then uninstall and try to login with your real Skype on the desktop client.

Can't log out. Microsoft auto links an e-mail to the new skype.

 

I would contact the skype live chat for assistance and see what they say.

 

I have no idea what the heck to do anymore. I tried with you few things I thought should work but apparently Skype is a massive fag to work around at the time of writing.

Lets bump this up, i'm curious to see if anyone knows how to get this fixed or if you'll really just have to either wait for a fix to be released or switch to W7 lol.

 

So yer, uninstalling with revo is the only way this is working at the moment.

I can't download Win7 as it will void my warrenty and the laptop cost over $1000 so I would rather not do that.

Windows 7 currently costs £50 in the shops too. Help please

 

So after spending a further hour on livechat to Skype, the problem persists.

5 hours wasted in live chat, 5 wasted trying to fix the problem myself.

It makes me wonder if Skype if really worth this hassle.

 

What I still don't get is, if you just unlink the microsoft account from the skype account, then just close out that w8 skype and get the normal non-shitty skype, why won't it still work after that? :/

Did it still say you're already logged in or what's the dealio?
