Report a scammer change

I was wondering if the change to report a scammer section where anyone is allowed to reply was intentional or not. It's really annoying reading a report and all of the replies are from randoms bickering.

 

It's supposed to be used in order for people to add relevant information easier, but people have been getting away with complaining/fighting without moderation. I think it should remain how it is, just make stricter rules and auto-infract posts that don't relate to the topic.

 

It's clearly had an adverse effect. Instead of people adding relevant information they bicker. I'm sure it was changed so that mods didn't have to merge threads continuously but it's added even more work when they have to go through 15 posts of irrelevant nonsense and start infracting people instead of merging threads.
