okay, I thought I might try here because I have tried everything else including the bungie people on the forums.

okay, so I usually connect my xbox 360 up to my laptop and share connection, letting me go online without paying 100$.

about a year ago my connection to my laptop just stopped and it wont connect, saying my ip address failed or dns failed. I have tried everything to fix it, I mean like everything. the only thing that works is connecting it directly to the router, which is downstairs which means every time I wanna play online I have to bring it downstairs, then bring it back up because my parents hate it when its all out. o.o

    any ideas? =D

Call up your ISP and see if they can do anything regarding it failing to connect. Maybe the wireless adapter has gone bad? I use a Linksys wireless adapter and after a while it suddenly stopped working and I replaced the adapter and it was good as new. Other than those 2 options, I'm not sure.

That's the point. There must be something wrong with the wireless adapter if you can get it to work by connecting it directly, yet it won't work wirelessly.
