Obviously scamming. If you want to do such a trade, once you ship it you have every bit of information of the person so therefor it is a total scam if you refuse to even use an OMM.

If you don't want your iPhone anyways maybe you should sell it and get the cash prior to buying RSGP? Then you wouldn't have to deal with all the complications, and you could just use an OMM/MM.
