    Hey guys,

Just seeking advice or recommendations on the differences between outdoor security cameras are and any that you guys would recommend.

I've found two which look decent to me so far:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4CH-DVR-...m-SYD-STOCK-/331443288127?hash=item4d2b8f383f

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ANNKE-96...ance-System-/221656263198?hash=item339bbe2a1e

There's obviously the pricing difference between the 2, is the cheaper one worth buying as it'd do what I need it to do?

Basically want to set it up around the outside of my place and be able to view it from my mobile phone too, while letting it record 24/7 (or have it record during a set time e.g. night time)

    Thanks

Hey man, I don't know much about this sort of thing. But my recommendation would go as far as saying you get what you pay for. Judging on the descriptions of each of the two I would seek to purchase the more expensive one. Sure the first will do the trick, but if you're serious about keeping intruders out then go for the latter. It seems as if they both do the same thing, i.e. motion sensor notifcations to a mobile device, but the more expensive has better quality. Although as such, they do not provide actual screen captures of the quality?

That's definitely true, you do get what you pay for.

And there's a couple of screen caps of the difference between quality (TVL) that I can see

Also found another, pricing is in between the 2 however I can't find the TVL for this one:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Funlux-8...mera-System-/271135473586?hash=item3f20eeffb2

It's also sold over 600 systems too! Which to me seems like it must be alright haha

it depends what your trying to accomplish with your cameras. if your trying to catch some illegal activity or vandalism or something get the more expensive ones and the clearest quality

Most likely going with the Funlux I linked above your post.

Getting quotes to install it (need the wiring to go through the roof for example), so far it doesn't sound cheap haha

The install is the biggest issue. Let us know how it goes, I've been considering this for a while.
