[denied] Showing off sales

I think it would make sense for people only be able to show off their sales in their threads if they have a Sythe vouch backing up the trade, so they can quote it and add it to the sale.

So it will be more unlikely that people will fake sales in order to look more trustworthy.
It's not something hard to implement, and it will give clients a better and more honest view

Taking the example from a user that just got banned

 

I support them adding a bit more info instead of just having "sold". The additional info could be the deal thread, a vouch, or simply stating that it was sold offsite.

I don't believe adding a vouch is necessary since not everyone vouches after a purchase and not everything is sold onsite.

 

I personally don’t believe having accounts marked as sold in a thread makes a user look more trustworthy.
If I’m buying an account from someone, I’m looking at their vouches and the quality of them.
I wouldn’t support for this reason as well as what @Kanye said above.

 

So basically what you're all saying is that a newcomer will check if the user has a vouch thread? We will because we know how Sythe work.
I don't think a new member or someone browsing the threads will know it. And they will take what being said in the thread for granted, since currently Sythe allows people to "self-vouch" themselves on this type of threads by saying they sold something without any proof.

Sometimes it's hard to see Sythe as someone who is not familiarized with the whole Sythe process.

What exactly are you suggesting? This sounds like vouches with extra steps

 

Record a gif of you selling the gold, their discord, and their uid.

This is only for threads where people show off their sales (like accounts). And quoting a vouch and placing it there, it's not a hard thing to do.

The problem these days is that everyone assumes newcomers will actually look into vouches. But they won't.
It's their own problem? Sure. But if they have a bad experience, they won't be coming back, and we've been seeing that a lot. So why not to try to mitigate that by adding a simple quote from a vouch? I can only see people who actually sell the accounts and get the people to engage with Sythe to benefit from it.

Would this be mandatory? Would already existing threads have to edit those threads.
I think your intention is good i'm just having a bit of trouble seeing the use of it.
Please correct me if I were to be wrong in my understandings!

 

Rules atm
Threads MUST display the follow information or they will be locked:

• A screenshot of the account's levels* (Example) (Example RS3) - You may only blur up to 5 stats and the total level. (Example)
• A screenshot of the account's wealth [If specified] (Example) (Example RS3)
• A screenshot of the lobby screen [If specified for membership] (Example) (Example RS3)

I would just add something like:

• If you're showing off a sale, a quote from the vouch needs to be added.

I only see benefits doing so, but again, I'm pretty confident on the quality of my vouches and I don't mind quoting them.

 

Of course this is false advertising and unethical. But I believe it’s the buyer’s responsibility to do a QC of vouches that have been advertised.
I think enforcing such a thing will just put a lot of redundant work on Mods.

This sounds more like “if you see something, say something” - Users should just report a thread in case something is terribly out of the ordinary.

 

It actually doesn’t add much work to them, since they have to check the other displayed information stated in rules. It’s kinda of impossible to report someone who is advertising a false sale imo

Listing 20 accounts (potentially random screenshots) and then Iisting a couple of "high profile" accounts as sold, sounds like a vouch to new users.

Adding this as a prerequisite would avoid self and or fake "vouching"

I think it's a solid precaution, which doesn't pose more effort than listing it as "sold" or deleting it, protecting new users and external visitors

This. Less is more. We aren't a communist state. If a buyer does not care about their money enough to vet actual vouches and trustworthiness (whether a newcomer or not, that's irrelevant), then your suggestion really isn't going to change that in my opinion. When I am looking to purchase an account, one of the first things I do is search the sellers vouch section for previous account sales. It's very easy. Again, I don't believe it isn't the responsibility of staff to babysit buyers who are frivolous and reckless with their money.

 

I disagree with you, not everyone knows there's a vouch section. I don't see it anywhere warning a newcomer to check vouches page before buying something, so it's kinda normal that they will go for whatever it's said inside the topic.

Maybe add some type of warning then, on the sticky posts

ALWAYS search the Login ID of accounts! and add & check vouches?
