I think it would be fascinating, and I think scientists should expand in all areas. This is a great start!

Should we clone extinct animals back?

I think we should only clone extinct animals that were made extinct by humans, not nature.

Lol to be honest, I think it would be pretty interesting to see animals that we humans have yet to see in our generation today be brought to life in our time. To point to reality though, I believe it will be wrong at least for my views I try to stay away from artificial creations towards living things. They did die out for a reason and I believe they should just be put to rest if that's what indeed happened.

I just still have that wondering feeling to see how a dinosaur really looks like in person.

This is what I was thinking as well. Since we humans are really the leaders of what happens in our world today and we do cause alot of destruction, if we are responsible for an animal's extinction then it would be right to bring them back.

Umm....it would be cool, but i think that it would be a complete waste of time and money. Not to mention possibly dangerous.

The superficial difference that we tend to draw between "nature" and us is hilariously vain. Somewhere far away extraterrestrial life is observing all of the animals and nature of Earth, and how the ones that walked upright built huge nests out of this hard material.

My point is: we are nature. Why shouldn't we "mess with nature"?

They all died for a reason. While it isn't really morally wrong in my opinion, They died because they sucked at life. Nobodies fault but their own, even If humans killed them off.

Dangerous? If you put humans and any other creature in a fight, the humans invariably win due to their RPGs, M16s and MAC-10s.

I say no because there are way more animals that have gone extinct due to natural selection than to the interference of man, and you know our scientists won't stop at one species. Therefore, I'd much rather we leave mother nature alone as much as possible, and resist the urge to bring back the long-since extinct species for our own pleasure. However, I do believe it would be beneficial to clone those animals whom humanity has pushed to endangerment, thanks to poachers etc.

I would normally say no, But if there happened to be an animal with some type of genetic we could benefit from it's revival such as a cure for some current uncurable disease then go for it, But just for fun or just because we can I say a big NO.

Life is life. And life is a wonderful thing. So whether animal or human, I support all formations of creating new life.

Should we clone extinct animals back?

I assume this has been mentioned somewhere in the thread, but I don't have time to read it all. Cloning extinct animals (at least dinosaurs) is not even vaguely possible. Their DNA would be completely unobtainable, this ain't no Jurassic Park shit, fossils don't hold their DNA in convenient pouches. Again, sorry if this has already been mentioned, I haven't read through.

It's not so much whether it's possible to do it. It's a moral question of whether we should if we could

Ah, fair enough, if it's just a hypothetical, I'd honestly say no. They're extinct for a reason (albeit a seemingly unfortunate reason) and to disrupt that balance of nature isn't something that should be taken lightly.

Personally, I believe that the extinction of species in the past was purposeful. I believe they became extinct so that we could take the spot of dominant species on the earth. Do you honestly think we'd still be on the top of the food chain if T-Rex were running around everywhere?! Not to mention, that if we follow the theory of the atmosphere "Evolving" they wouldn't be able to survive unless they became capable of swift adaptation to the earth's environment today. Our oxygen isn't how it was back then.

Bring back dinosaurs and we will have another jurassic park. lol
but no, if a species is meant to die, then its meant to die.
And it would cost tons of money to clone enough animals to bring an entire species back so the cost to success ratio just wouldnt be worth it.

Should we clone extinct animals back?

I would love to be able to see extinct animals alive again but i would be worried about the negative impacts on other animals in the wild if the extict animals were to come back as they could cause another animal to become extinct, but it would be amazing to see what some animals were once like alive such as a sabre tooth tiger.

Dinosaurs aren't the only extinct animals you know.... We probably couldn't even clone them as they're are way too old.
Also, I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to clone a vicious dinosaur. They'd probably clone one of the plant-eating peaceful ones.

I'd say no, they went extinct for a reason. Let the world go on naturally.

I don't see any logical reason not to.

So long as we don't get out of hand, and clone massive amounts of species that could endanger our own.
