I don't think you'll get ideal FPS but it will be decent.

I'll take a look at exact specs later but for now your setup will be able to run anything out right now at decent to high quality.

You'll get 20 fps easy with that card.

sweet man, thats pretty smooth, right? not extremely noticeable lag unless you're lookin for it, right?

its my first custom build, im nervous >.<

edit: would i really need the extra fan for the build? the ones in the case didn't seem like much to me, most of the other cases i checked out had several 200mm fans, this one has none. also, you do need thermal paste for the fan installation, right?

20 fps is awful. You don't need to buy thermal paste. Your build is fine the way it is. Worst case scenario you pick up extra fans and thermal paste if you notice its running hot.

You'll be hitting at least 35-40 FPS

You should be able to run on max settings fine with that. Not sure about your processor though.

    And I wouldn't recommend a seagate HDD.

I recommend that you get a Nvidia GTX 460 graphics card, they are excellent value for money and they can match or exceed the Radeon 5850 in most games.

Found another set of components that seem nice, would this work? Also: bump.

Combo Deal: AMD Phenom II 6 Core processor, AMD motherboard, HD RADEON 5830.

    A-Data RAM, 4 gigs (2x 2gigs) DDR3.

Western Digital Caviar 800gig Hard Drive

    Lite-On DVD/CD burner

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106289

Blue Version of the Aforemention Sunbeam Transformer Case

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811166005&cm_re=case-_-11-166-005-_-Product

    550 Watt OCZ Power Supply

As good or better than my previous setup? I need Crysis at max settings, at least 2x Anti-Aliasing, If I can run that, I can run anything, which is my goal.

Uh... What's your resolution/monitor? It all depends on the resolution, really.

Well I was gonna use my 32 inch 720p LCD tv, but I'll probably snag a 17 inch monitor cheap off craigslist or something.

Well I doubt you can play at Enthusiast while getting REALLY good frames with that 32", but with a 17" you'll do good, though I'm sucker for bigger screens. I could max the shit out of Crysis with 4x AA on my 19" (using a 4890), but ever since I got a 21.5", I had to play on Gamer otherwise I'd get around 20 FPS, which, IMO, is bad.

You might wanna get a crossfire and overclock your processor if you want to squeeze a few frames out.

I'll stick with the 17" then, cheaper anyway because i won't need to buy a new wireless mouse or keyboard, but you do think I can get Enthusiast settings? What FPS should I top out at?

Sorry if it seems like I'm nagging everyone, it's my first build and I want it right.;)

Yeah, I got my first i7 in September 2009 so I know what it's like. And no, you're not nagging anyone.

Well with a 17" monitor and those specs, definitely. My guess would be 35+ FPS, maybe higher.
