My staker thus far

Planned on getting 75 def for dfs. That's it so far.

 

Why does everyone do this..


People will just ask for a quickchat of your defense level, and your ruined. They'll all know your a tank. Think creative, i already found the best antitank staker, since everyone is making tanks.

 

You don't have to answer. You can look up videos of stakers and see that it is indeed possible to deceive someone into staking you, especially newer players that weren't around before unrestricted trade.

I'm really not sure after 75 def. Gonna wear full torags obsidian cape fury regen bandos boots warrior ring and darklight when staking comes back and stake with these levels. If I'm not winning I'll increase my attack and str a bit. I'd like to get 99 def eventually.

 

dang thats a nice staker. i remember barrows pures back in the day. ive always enjoyed dds staking more.

 

With the addition of crossbows and (e) bolts should I allow ranging? A safe bet would have been melee only but I'd like to broaden my chances, not sure the effect (e) bolts will make against my high def.

If I may suggest something
I think you should end up turning it into a 11 pray tank
somewhere along the lines of staying 75-80 def, getting 90+hp and 94+ ranged
94 mage + 11 pray for mage staking
That way you'll be around 89 combat and could easily dominate people within 20-30 levels of you

 

what kind of staking you going to do? im guessing a (p++) dagger and then switch to darklight? and yes a ranger your level will have a hard time hitting through all that defence...but as you have no hp i wouldnt allow it as technically he could one shot you.

I'd suggest getting 40+ range and using 3rd age + dfs. (Highest defence in game not counting statius.)
Then using Rune Knives. Knives hit hard and fast = destroy 1 defence.
To make them thing you're using a bow, make sure you have arrows on. Hopefully they'll try and turn arrows off. Act like you don't see it, they think they've won.. /gf

When not ranging, just use dark light as you suggested. You should be able to get 70ish range w/o combat level.

 

You will need more attack a reddomend u start of with a (p) ++ weapon to help with loweing there hp faster

 

The hp is going to effect you a lot i had an account just like that untill i messed it up. your gunna get 1 hit a lot.

 

What hp level do you recommend?

 

Really nice account so far! I think a mage tank would be good, if your planning on raising another stat.

Yeh, but back then there was no quick chat and even if they weren't around, they've must of seen videos about defense stakers.

+ everyone in the wildy asks for stats QC before a fight and thats just the wildy, couldn't imagine staking.

 

I would also recommended a low range level, somewhere between 40 and 60. Rune knives destroy

 

U need Range and More Hp, 2 Ok Hits from Obby Pures and your gone =/

 

rune knives/darts are great i agree
