    Pirating? Wrong or Right?

Hey so I want to know your taughts on pirating, we all know of the program called Limewire and Bearshare. Do you think it's wrong or right to pirate? Should their be a limit to pirating? Should it be a form o profit or nonprofit?
    Post your ideas.

There's nothing wrong with pirating. How can you own an idea, or a song? You can own tangible things that exist in reality, sure, but can you really own a concept?

Yes I agree with that Shedder, I think people should be able to pirate for themselves and not to sell for profit.

I think it's perfectly fine. Not only because of what Shredderbeam said, but because they DON'T NEED THE MONEY.

They are already more wealthy than most people buying their music will ever be, so who cares if you steal a few songs?

That's the misconception everyone seems to have about pirating. People believe that large companies will not suffer from their software or other things being pirated, but that is not the case. More and more people are believing in the same idea, slowly hurting companies.

I'm somewhat for pirating, and somewhat against it. People worked hard for the software you use, free or not. Think about it like this: You write software, one of the most widely used softwares, which you worked very hard for. The company you work for decides to sell the program for a lot of money. Sure, you'll get some buyers. But you'll see so many people are using your software without paying. Doesn't that make you mad, that some kid is using your work for free? The one that you worked so hard to create?

I'm also for Pirating because I support free software. People shouldn't need to pay for things that they need to use. It's quite silly.

just because people pirate doesnt mean that albums dont sell besides with all the commercials and advertising they do they can literally burn money anyway

besides its free so why would you pay when you can get it for nothing?

    Pirating? Wrong or Right?

Most companies (Take Adobe for instance) price their products on the assumption that some will be stolen, or pirated. So what you've stolen, someone else has payed for. Sounds like fair game to me, just dont get caught with it on your computer.

I vote right all the way.

I for one love pirating. I have all the new and old movies that I want. I have all the new and old albums I want. Same goes for programs. Matter of fact, I'm running a pirated version of XP pro. So in the case of wrong or right, I would say that to the companies it is wrong but to me it is right. Just don't leech though. At least seed things until your ratio is at least 1:1. Utorrent = FTW.
