My Friend Is Suicidal

Long story short. After being on this online website dating a guy for 4 years, my bestfriend got broken up with. She has been on the rage about this website and how its terrible and she hates life and shes meaningless etc. She's been asleep now for about 2 hours and I haven't let her out of my sight. I just need to find out what website this is so I can find out more of what happened between her and the guy that she got broken up by so I can try to help. I've been able to calm her down but I fear I cannot fix the issue without knowing everything, or at the very least, more than I know now.

She had sent me 2 links before of what the chats/screen looks like, but no name can be seen in the pictures. I have blocked out the contents of the messages for obvious reasons. I have tried searching multiple lines of the text (singly and together) with " marks in Google but have not found anything.

Someone found the website for me within 2 hours, huge thank you to them. You can close this or discuss this thread if needed.

yes, but they are only partial names. Luckily someone (i assume they wish to remain anonymous as they PM'd me and didn't post) found it,

 

I'll leave this open so people can give you advice on helping your friend.

It would be nice to know they broke up when/if you find out.

Hey man, so I've dealt with similar cases to this.
Really, you have to make them talk, and let them let their emotions out. Be patient, they won't listen to reason the majority of the time. You just have to wait and everything will get better. There's a 99% chance she will not kill herself, even if she tries, she'll back down. Your body will give out a lot of the time before you can even go through with whatever you planned.

But try to let her vent about it. Comfort her as best as you can.

 

About 2 weeks ago to the day. He broke up with her. We're both 21 and he (from his posts) sounds like he's 16...

He just say they had grown apart.

I told her that I found the website and asked her about it and she got violently mad at me for looking. I'm not sure why. Maybe there is something there that I shouldn't see. But I told her I wouldn't keep looking. Suggestions?

 

It would be bad to go behind her back like that, but you probably should do it since you're only helping her, just keep looking and keep an eye out on her.

 

I've decided NOT to go snooping any further. She was very upset with me and she said she thought she could trust me. I told her she could and she told me to promise I'd stop. I have to honor that in my eyes. I've already seen enough to know the bases upon which they stand. The following is what I uncovered:

• He broke up with her on the 20th
• She had kept it to herself until the 1st (when she told me)
• The guy pretty much said he was sick of her not answering and he was moving etc and that he didnt want to put in the effort right now.

That's all I really got from looking through a lot of the messages. 1-3 months back it seems they were fine though. Although they had a "fight" in March.




And now to be honest. I think I love her.

 

Did she ever meet this boy? Or is this strictly a online romance turned sour? She really needs help medically if she's an adult and is behaving this way over someone on the internet. I'd say have her committed if she's trying to harm herself. Don't let her bully you into believing that she'll kill herself if you leave her alone or don't do what she asks or if you break her trust some people just need a brick to the face with reality before they can get any better.

Don't be her stepping stone, be her rock and maybe if you do love this girl they'll be some hope for you two. Honestly girls like this just want attention and are drama queens but maybe she needs medication because there's probably a lot more going on with her upstairs then you may think. Also girls like this don't make great girlfriends or wives because she probably needs to do a lot of soul searching and building herself up to be a stronger women emotionally and physically for herself and for others before she's even capable to withhold a relationship.

 

In my opinion you need to convince her that she's safe speaking with you about the situation with the guy.

Give her some advices like "Dont worry, you're beautifull and there are many guys that would die to be with someone like you" and things like that... Make her feel like shes the cutest girl in the entire world as she now feels depressed and probably her self-esteem is quite low

You just need to make her feel special

 

Stuffs like this is kind of hard, but I guess it's a long distance relationship? I mean, since they've been dating online for 4 years. Long Distance Relationship is pretty hard, so I think you should solve the matter and if possible ( only if it's possible ), unite them both.
