Dump your items?

With Jagex hinting at the "nerfing" of the 26k trick, would this be the right time to dump those items that have been skyrocketing for the past few weeks?
I mean, with the abolishment of the 26k trick, it's going to mean a HUGE decrease in the amount of gold coming into the game, meaning players will have less money to spend, driving demand and therefore price down. So the items that have been increasing in price (because of the inflation caused by the 26k trick) will now experience lower demand and therefore lower price. Is this right or do I have my economics wrong?

I'm not sure excatly how they would do it, but a jmod has already stated that the 26k trick will be gone soon.

Regardless of how it will be nerfed, if and when it does, will my theory hold true?

 

Where does it say they're gonna nerf it? I only got 760k off 75 ep and 40k off 25, though.

 

Its already been nerfed for 0% ep. You get Squat.

 

I don't think you're right here mate. I believe prices of certain items will go even higher. People will be doing more gwd and wanting different items, therefore items such as Sara Brews and Shark will go up even more. Godswords may decline, but others will take their place. The gp is already in the game, no way to take it out.

 

Well were certain of one thing, 26k trick will not be around for much longer.

 

Sure, there's no way to take the money out, but that's not what Jagex is doing. What they're doing is taking out a huge money creator (26k trick). Yes the money that's made is already in the economy, but slowing down the influx of it has to have some effect.

It won't be too drastic. It just decreased the amount of money from 0% ep. Believe me, people will keep doing it for the chance of getting 5M by only waiting like 30mins.

How do you know that's wrong? What evidence do you have that the 26k trick won't be nerfed?

I do agree, though, that whatever change occurs, it won't be too drastic (hopefully).

Which is blatantly obvious. They always ruin the game. They invented the 26k trick to take down Runescape. [/sarcasm]

On Topic. I still think everything will remain the same. Maybe even worse for pking.

 

Xombi, my estimate is that a lot of weapons will increase and decrease. DDS's will go back up to 50k each and Dragon Scimitars will stay at 100k each. I'm not too sure as for whips and other items.

 

Don't dump anything.... It will just help to crash the economy.... >_>. If they do anything, it will not crash... It will slowly go down as people stop making money...

 

If they eliminate the 26k trick, how will it effect GP selling ? Will demand go up or down ? and will prices per mil increase?
