should i get a 360 or PS3?

ok so ive had a ps3 (before i traded it for some pot) and now ive come across some $ and im wanting to get a new one. i was lookin earlier and ps3's are about 250 where 360s are 200. I got $310 total, so i was wonderin should i get a 360 with a year of xbox live and a game or jus get a ps3. Which is better as far as lag, COD online players, and updates?

xBox live has bigger base of players then PS3 does.
And I've had both.
Personally, I love the xBox 360.
Controller is just a better grip for me.
PS3 I would go if you like the internet and downloading movie and playing through the PS3 or if you have older PS games, then I would buy it.
Otherwise I'd go for the xBox with LIVE and games

I've also owned xbox and PS3, I have to say I much prefer xbox. Sure, XBL fees are a pain in the ass, but the controller is so much better, the community seems to be larger and more friendly, and most competitive gaming is done on the xbox*.

Had an Xbox 360 for 2 years, then i sold it to upgrade to the ps3. The prices said it for me, as usually the more it costs, the better, which was true to me. No im not a fanboy, but the graphics and processor speeds are amazing.

 

Personally I'd say build your own gaming PC instead but more than likely that option isn't available to you.

Xbox 360 is your next best bet though. Better controller, better online experience, more of your friends probably play Xbox 360 etc. I've always felt like I was going to snap the PS3 controller in half when I play with it. I had a PS2 when I was like 13 but after playing on the original Xbox and Xbox 360 it just feels like a piece of shit in comparison. The 360 controller is much more ergonomic too, imo. Xbox Live > PSN in practically every way. Yeah you have to pay for it, but honestly you get what you pay for in this world. If it's free it's more than likely free because it sucks. The graphics have a slight (and I mean VERY slight) advantage on the PS3, but Xbox 360 doesn't look bad.

PS3 has bluray, but if you don't have a 1080p tv you won't notice a difference anyway. Kinect blows Move away, but honestly I think they both kind of suck. At least the Kinect has games though :x. Most games are designed for the 360 then ported over to the PS3 anyway, so except for exclusives (not that many, and the few that they have aren't very good imo) there's almost no difference in how the games look/play. Games like COD you won't notice any difference other than the controllers.

Before any fanboys jump on my ass, all of this is just my opinion

 

xbox is full of little halo fanboys, get a ps3, free internet, no replacing every few months, you also get blueray quality compared to xbox's HD with super over-bloomed effects, as for the controller, people complain the PS3's is too small, you can just buy a larger controller

but seriously just get a Computer to play games on

I own both.
Xbox live seems to be more social as mics are cheap, the skill level for fps seem to be alot better. Ps3 however has free internet.

I recommend an Xbox.

 

I would say ps3 even though I've never owned one and I like my 360 we only have another year or so before the next gen upgrade so why waste money and then additional cash on xbl when you can have free service with ps3.

 

Other than having a faultier network than the Xbox 360, the PS3 completely outranks the Xbox 360 in every aspect. Not to mention, emulation is almost fully compatible with the PS3 now.

Ps3 if you don't want to pay for membership every month + if you don't want to buy a new bluray player. Ps3 also has better graphics..

Xbox for better gameplay, games in general are better are on there. (Halo series etc.)

 

My vote goes to xbox 360.

The online community is larger, the games are better, the console is cheaper, and cheaper to fix if something goes wrong.

PS3 may have a free online community, but it's insecure (hacked twice) and your information can be stolen [obviously] easily. The only thing PS3 has going for it that microsoft doesn't already have is bluray and Fat Princess

 

All the 360 really has is the higher playerbase, while the ps3 has free online and bluray.

I'd say a 360, just because I prefer its online service to the PS3's. I have both and they're great though.

 

Xbox360 has a better player base and most gaming competitions are held there. You get what you pay for so the service is better. Controller is also "better" to play on and games are a lot better (more games).

PS3 has a Bluray player if you're the movie type of guy and like to surf the net on PS3.

I would go for the Xbox 360 if I were you.

BTW, if you for the Xbox 360, make sure to get 250GB if you want to play all features of Halo and others which is $100 more.

 

I own a Xbox 360 but always wanted to play the PS3. I've gotten the RROD twice and it costed me some $$$. Can't go wrong with the 360 though, Gears owns.

 

Btw to everyone making such a big deal outta the bluray player on the PS3.... there is no difference between bluray and streaming 1080p video. Optical drives as a whole are obsolete.
