Should I call the police? Part 2

Wow Raising, this seemed to of gotten serious. Was interested in your last thread, and very concerned for you and your family now. Yeah now is the time to invest in some cameras, or motion activated ones. As someone suggested before, have police surveillance in an unmarked car for as long as you can get them. I guess you or a family member could tell them that, you have suspicion that your house was broken into (which was), and you could possibly be in danger.

If you can, could you please upload the number symbols? I'm interested to see what the size is on them. Best of luck, and will check back for updates.

The numbers are always in different places...surely a gang would always mark the same kind of area so that they didn't have to go searching on every single house.
Probably just marks that came on the posts that you are only just noticing. Don't worry about it.

Question did they take anything? Who breaks in and doesn't take whatever they were going for if your dog is still there I'm thinking the door being broken is just a coincidence also where you said you left your garage unlocked I mean really man -.- if your worried everything should be locked good luck!

I went through a very similar situation.

Stuff someone suggested to me that I wanted to do, but ended up not:

    - Put a sign in your front yard that pretty much says "Don't fuck with my shit". You'd be surprised how many sissy new age "gangstas" would be scared off by that. Your house it just another number to them, if they know you're onto them, they might back off. And a sign would save you the face to face confrontation.

Personally I would recommend you do have a weapon at all times. Maybe not a gun, but when I was dealing with this I had a crowbar in arms reach and a giant buck knife under my cushion. I don't give a fuck if it doesn't go "Bang", if I hear you first - It's on.

I also am highly encouraging you to get a camera. My situation ended with my car getting a new screwdriver paint job. However, I wasn't dealing with lame ass waka flocka listening hood rats, but still with creepy people essentially 'casing' my house day in and day out. I also watched them do it every day, and even started stalking them. If I had bought a camera though, I could have saved myself a car guaranteed. I now have 4 active cameras and it was the best ~100 bucks I've ever spent. Craigslist.

Edit: those could also be, as someone said, marks on the post. Even still, I saw your other thread and those don't really look like factory stamps.

I wouldn't call the police yet but rather get a good alarm system with on call police

Taking a class in ADMJ 330 in college with a teacher who was in law enforcement for over 30 years, i learned that police are not smarter than you and I but are glorified babysitters. All they do is write stuff down and without the "thieves" being there and caught red handed all they will tell you is to watch out and call sooner.

Police are useless, FBI is great but they won't do a fingerprint unless it was a murder scene.

Seems as if it is just a gang trying to scare you and see how you react to certain things in order to attack you. Yes it will get worse, I had people break into my house and stole ONLY my xbox and games and nothing else, they had a modus operandi.

As I've told you via PM, I'm 100% sure those stamps came from the factory. If you go looking for stamps on your lumber you're going to find it. I guarantee if you paint it all you will never find another stamp.

As for the doorknob, yeah, maybe somebody did try to break in (totally unrelated to the factory stamps though), but its more likely to me that it was your drunk father who broke the door knob.

The picture in te OP is definitely not a gang related stamp, confirm it yourself, walk down the street looking at other people's fence lines and if the stamp is there then it could quite possibly be gang related.

An organised crime ring will stamp an easy targets house, usually mark it with a paint pen or tie a rag around the fence - along those lines. What thy don't want to do - is make noise... To put that "969" stamp on your fence, would require a hammer and stamp.. Which indefinitely would create a loud "bang", hence why they didnt open your garage door (if the did break in). So with regards to stamping, you're fine, straight from the factory.

In regards to your door handle, maybe someone did try break in? Maybe someone didnt.. It might be your conscience playin tricks on you. I would keep a weapon in the house and use scare tactics to scare potential burglars off.
