Should I buy a BGS?

With 20M and have about 4.5M left or spend it on better armour + sara sword?

 

BGS's are pretty useless in general.

Not got for training and not good for boss killing.

I'd say go with the other armour + sara.

 

For training, BGS is bad for damage/hr (exp/hr); it gets about 5-10k exp/hr less than a whip or SS. If you need a crush weapon, it's not terrible, but honestly a Z Spear or SS is better exp/hr as well.

For bosses, BGS is decent, but having a DFS or a soaking shield is very, very important. Besides, whenever you'd need to use a slash weapon, a whip is better.


The only useful Godswords are SGS (for monster camping) and AGS (for a spec in PKing). However, both of these are trumped by other things... monster camping is usually better with a Unicorn or with Soul Split juggling, and nothing can beat the spec of a Korsai's when PKing.

 

Okay how about Guthans and a SS?

 

I would suggest

Torso
Fighter helm(Or slayer helm if you train slayer)
Barrow legs
ss
Barrow gloves/Regen bracelet
Dragon boots
Firecape
Amulet of glory(t)
Berserker ring

I believe that is more or less the ultimate gear for strength training with what you can afford, could and should replace the SS with a whip and dragon defender if you're training attack or defence

 

Sara sword is good. Choose sara sword

I just got one, and I regret it.

Slow, and rubbish for training.

 

bgs is good for pking at certain times. anygodsword is bad for training. ive used em at bandos when i was 1 defense so i could have a bandos item but now bandos book takes care of it

 

I wouldn't recommend buying it, it's pretty much useless. Definitely go with the sara sword.

 

see but i dont think the sara sword is that much better than a d scimmy. it hits a little higher than a d scimmy but not that much if u add a d defender in with the scimmy and also the sara sword is a 2h weapon so if ur slaying u cant use it to slay drags unless ur high enough herblore for trhe super antifire pots, cant slay harpies, turoths, kurasks, or basilisk with it. unless ur going to train ur str somewhere like bandits id say either is pointless

 

Imo no because they are pretty useless. Spend ur money on some better armour or save up for ags

 

As people already stated yes indeed it is a trash weapon definitely not worth it. But yes perhaps the Sara Sword may be a better option. But im still kinda newbie to runescape (well the combat part of it) and I love the Dragon Claws ehhehe they are complete rapesauce (atleast from what I remember).
