Computer build to run 4 bots

I bot using VPS. I was thinking about buying a server for a very small Goldfarm, something like 4-6 bots.

Since I use a custom method which needs Windows, I need to be able to install on the build at least 4 Virtual machines with Virtualbox and I need it to run smoothly. I wouldn't mind to pay a little extra just to be sure the PC will be able to run them.

Could you suggest which components should I use (from CPU to GPU to case) to get it run smooth, spending the minimum? I won't need a DVD reader or a very large HDD, obviously, since I would use it exclusively for botting. Oh, and I'd like it to consume the minimum electricity possible.

Entirely dependent on what kind of system resources one bot takes up.

 

Well get an ssd for sure, running virtual machines requires a lot from a drive. A regular HDD usually suffers.

AMD is usually cheaper and more suited for botting (lower quality than intel, its up to you if you want to spend extra money on intel)

 

I thought I didn't need a SSD. For that concerns the CPU, what model should I get?

 

Get an Intel Core i5 with at least 2.5 Ghz. You'd be best with a 3rd or 4th gen at least. I'm not as familiar with AMD as I am with intel but I know this, they're both high quality. I5 is cheaper than I7 and is used for gaming. If you want to multi task then go with an I7. You can find good deals on E-tailer sites. if you give me a price range and a little more info I could search for what you need and find the best price.

 

Well you don't need an ssd but it will struggle a lot.
Well I got 4 amd fx-8350 processors but an i5 will do the trick just fine.

People are talking out of their asses if they don't know what kind of system resources a bot is taking.

 

If he's running PB or something it's easy but if he's using something much more complicated we need to know so we can give him more accurate advice.

Thank you everyone for your replies! For that concerns bot used, it is not any popular client like Powerbot, as someone suggested. I use a program that interacts with the mouse and works directly with Runescape desktop client.

I just need a PC which is able to run 4 virtual machines, each one with Windows installed on it and Runescape running on minimum details.

I was just wondering how much it would cost to move my goldfarm from VPS to a personal "server" in order to make it smoother and cheaper. I don't have a price range, I am looking for a price range!

I just want to know which CPU and GPU I need to use and how much RAM I should install. I think I will be able to choose other components myself. I will do my calculations and check if it'd be convenient for me to spend money on this personal server.

From what I understand (please correct me if i'm wrong) you want to run 4 macro programs at once, sort of like jitbit Macro recorder? if that's the case Then I would recommend getting a quad core processor with 2.4+ ghz of ram. I can't see how much it could take of your cpu. As for ram you could go with x4 sticks of 4GB 1333Mhz Corsairs or Kingstons. Or just 8GB should suffice if your budget is low. I know Rs3 won't run for me with my current Nvidia but i'm not sure if it's the same for bot clients. Maybe just the Intel graphics would work? Someone please correct me if i'm wrong here. For a VPS You could just get a small SSD if you're just running the Macro's and not using it for anything else like video editing so you won't need a storage drive. You can pm me if you want and provide more info if you want to keep it private, but I'm only able to assess the details I have with some experience.

 

Thank you for your answer! Since I am looking to get the best machine at the lower price, would it be ok to use a Quad core like Intel Q9300 in order to save some money, instead of buying a i5/i7?

Also, I'd like some example of actual models of CPUs and graphic cards, just to get an idea of how much I am going to spend.

Nvidia 600+ Series should work, I'd suggest a GT or GTX series.
I'm not able to give you the information you request at this time regarding the Q9300. Maybe inbox me what program you're wanting to run or what the details of it are and I can provide more info.
Edit: after reading the original post I can see you want to build one from scratch. I can indeed help you with this by finding the cheapest parts you'll need but I will need the information I've requested. if you don't want to share it that's fine but I can't give you accurate information without.
