Should homosexuals have the right to get married?

I honestly think it should be their choice. I think it's unlawful to say that people cant marry because of their sex. If 2 men want to get married, let them do so. Same with women, it's their choice. I know people are going to argue about what I'm about to say, but it's just my opinion and you shouldn't take it offensively.
Everyone seems to be bringing up the bible. To me, the bible means nothing. It may say that 2 men shouldn't get married, but to me it's just a book. Don't get me wrong though, I don't respect people any less because they believe the stuff that they read.

 

I agree completely, I don't mean to drive off topic at all, but the bible wasn't even wrote by god? It was wrote by some drunken monks years later, idk, but this topic isn't about the bible L0L.

 

Yeah, I know know this isn't about the bible, but I felt the need to address my opinion in this matter because of that fact that people kept bringing it up.

Yes, the Bible plays a big part in this. Marriage is religious, and the Bible is the religious book for Christians. To expect a gay Christian marriage is literally blasphemy.

As I've said: If you don't like it, don't get married.

 

I think they absolutely should have that right. What people seem to forget is that Christianity DID NOT invent marriage. Marriage predates it by thousands of years. That said, a marriage is a legal union. Non-religious couples can choose to have the same legal union without the religious ceremony and it's still called marriage. If homosexuals are denied the same rights of non-religious people to get a legal marriage without the religious connotation, then the government is directly being influenced by religion, which is something the forefathers were adamantly against. To deny the rights of homosexuals to get married is to rip the constitution to shreds.

That exists already. Any couple can go to their town hall and receive an official legal marriage before a judge, and they still get the marriage papers and everything.

 

Ok, I'm not up to speed on American politics, so I didn't know you had that. Obviously that should be allowed for gay couples.

Personally wouldn't bother me. If they truly love each other than why shouldn't they be able to marry.

My dad is gay but i'm not adopted, Yes i got picked on like vultures at roadkill but I'm fine. I kicked the crap out of the main kid and he doesn't give me shit anymore. Even if he sees me he doesn't bring it up. But enough about me... My best friends mom is a lesbian and he is not adopted, but he has a brother who is. He doesn't get shit. It's all about who you associate with- people pick out the "Issues" or "problems" or something that bugs them in your life and they tear you up like a puppy with a new chew toy. Why should you take away somebody's natural right to adopt a child because of something that is natural in school/life? You will always be picked on.

I'd say gay parents are better than no parents. Adoptable kids don't have a family in the first place, it's not like they're bred for the purpose of adopting.

I did use physical confrontation to stop it, One day I just snapped- I like to think of myself as a pacifist but the two kids just got to me. I usually think of democracy before war, but in school that rule does not apply. And I don't get bugged, i don't condone fighting but what is needed is needed. AND I DIDN'T GET SUSPENDED .
