Sever food allergies, could this be a cure?

Hey, I'm 15 years old and have had a peanut allergy ever since I was born. Peanut allergies are part of the 3 most common allergies in the united states. 3million people have either an allergy to eggs milk and peanuts in which case some could be fatal.

Recently while scaping my mom was watching the news while a show came on regarding allergies. A lab has been testing to find the cure for peanut allergies. What they have been doing is finding subjects to test feed small doses of a certain food (in this case peanuts). They would slowly feed them a minimal dose of peanuts barely enough to set of a allergic reaction. 5 children were tested and after weeks of taking this test they are now able to have peanuts in their daily diet. They're now immune to peanuts and have dropped their peanut allergy (so we know).

Could this be a possible way to cure people from sever food allergies? Post your opinions.

note; do not try effecting this test at home.

I dont know about food allergys.. but I had severe pollen allergy and I went to an allergy doctor and got shots twice a week for about 4 months. I now am allergy free.

It is just build up your immunity to a certain item untill it dosent effect you.

    Also... google is your friend.

There was a report about this on milk and lactose intolerance. It works.

Sounds interesting, I've heard they start the treatment using less than 1/1000th of a peanut.
