Should combat skills go to level 120?

For convenience, I've made this a poll too. I was curious what other people thought about the idea of taking the combat skills to 120. Would people scramble to get 120 in those skills? What about potential effects on pvp? Imagine a 1-def pure with 120 str.

Personally I think it'd be cool but most people would be upset that they have to train so long to get to 120

 

I've thought about this before too. I think it would be a last resort to do that though. Like a way to keep people playing when Jagex can't think of more ways to keep the game interesting.

 

Would probably only benefit botters tbh. Weapons would hit waaay too high even for rocktail brews

 

120 simply takes too long. It's cool with Dungeoneering, as all skills are included.

If you want to see something cool, search 'milordarkantos 120 capes'. This guy makes his own 120 capes+emotes, and they look pretty boss.

 

None, they already ruined Runescape enough.
Every stat should stay at.
However, 120 dungeonerring is acceptable.

 

For a while it may through the game way off balance. As soon as the update came some people would immediately level to 120 as they already have 200,000,000 exp for combat stat.

 

i've thought this before. I think they won't implement any of the stats already in place but to 120 but I think every new skill from now on will be level 120.

There would be like a Max CB level of like 150

and they should make all skills 120.

OR make a new skill.

 

I think combat skills going to 120 would be cool if:

a) There weren't already so many overpowered, high-hitting weapons in modern Runescape.
b) People couldn't bot the skills up as easy.

Under those circumstances, achieving something like 120 strength would be very hard and actually very admirable, and you would deserve to have those extra max hits due to the work you put into training your character. With how the game is currently though, I think you would be able to hit WAY too high and would not be able to out-eat anything coming from somebody with maxed str, aswell as 120 would probably be very easy to achieve for the people who just bot 24/7. It would be cool though.

 

I think that you should be able to get to 120 just for a cape. As in.. 99 str and 120 str would hold the same bonus.

 

If jagex done this (They have said they never will) I would quit...

I mean people are getting 200m exp for nothing.
Might as well have something to show for it, like a few more lvl's.

 

I wouldn't like it because casual players would never be maxed. Maxed combat at the moment is a fair achievement for a casual gamer but combat skills at 120 would just be way to much. They can keep the hardcore runescape players entertained with the completionist cape and stuff like that.

 

i hope this never happens. imagine a bandos fight with high str bonus+super strength+turmoil+120 strength already. way overpowered specs. you could easily hit 1000.

OT: I think Jagex should do it, it'd be pretty sick and would give the 200+ maxed out players a new goal

 

Raising the combat level opens new doors for high level members. I've got 12 levels to go before almost all monsters in runescape are a piece of cake.

If they raise the combat level it will allow more monsters that are higher level and more difficult. I'm drunk I give up.

 

jagex has confirmed that this will NOT happen.

 

Doing so would require a lot of huge changes to how the game works as well as any PVP or PVM interaction within the game.

So even if they did, I think it'd take them so long to adjust everything that it really wouldn't be worth it. The time could be better spent developing other content.
