    Currently, if you type
    Code:
     :p
    it becomes an emote

    which is making it hard for the member's of the community to identify if they are being scammed because they don't realize it is what it meant to be and they may think its something else.

    I would like to be changed to

    Code:
     [:p]
    with all other emotes,
    it's making it easier for a scammer to get away with imposter scams :)

    example
    live:peecock

    ^ see emote, people may thing it's .P or something along them lines

    This would be great, since my skype name is live:papersharkstudios it is quite annoying when sending my skype name through PMs, a work around for this is to make the : bold or italic like this live:p live:p, however a way to disable emojis in your text would be awesome.

    I know that using the
    Code:
    [plain][/plain]
    tags will disable smilies in text.

    Do you know of anyone that has actually been scammed this way? Copying a skype username with a smiley in it will still give you the correct ID

    That for me is resolved then. Just use the code when needed. Saves a whole rehaul of the emojis.

    This report isn't user directly getting scammed by it but it was new user who got confused by it,
    imposter scam

    Appreciate where this is coming from abm but I don't think it's worth the dev time, knowing meteor's shown us a quick fix.

    Meteor above gave a great fix to the situation.

    I have also added this quick fix to all the Runescape information stickies: Runescape Gold Exchange Rules and Basic Practices
