Short-little; Vista tutorial(s)

This will be my, not Sythes official Vista tutorial thread.

Over time (when I have time) I will be adding all tips, tricks, tutorials I know about Vista to this thread.

Be advised - I am quite busy and will only update this thread when I am available with free time.

1. (a) Adding quick launch icons.

Some people get very tired of going to Start > All Programs > Etc

I'm going to show you a quick and easy step to eliminate some of that clicking.

For some of you that may not know, the quick launch is an area in the middle of the Start orb and Task Bar;

Once an object gets sent here all you have to do click it and it will run.

1. (b) Adding the icon

It's very, very easy to add a program to the quick launch. People have tough times doing it sometimes but it's easier then you think.

All you have to do is go to; Start > All programs; Once you have found a program that you wan to add to the quick launch right click; Add to Quick Launch;

Once done you can now click you're program and open it via Quick Launch.

Well then. That was pretty easy, was it not?

Next.

Lots of people, if you can believe it, do not know how to find their system information as well as the graphics card. This is for all of those who have trouble doing so.

2. (a) Discovering your system information

First thing is first; Start > Right click "Computer" > Properties;

Once you have clicked properties;

There it is, all of your system information. Easy, right?

2. (b) Performance information

Once you are on the System page; Click > Windows Experience Index; (Highlighted above)

See how easy that was, only a couple clicks and you have all of your computer information.

3. Finding you're IP Address

Now, this next step isn't much of a guide, tutorial, nothing really. It is just for those who have no understanding on how to get your own IP address.

Open a web browser;

This next procedure is a quick little... Safety task, if you would like to call it that.

4. Deleting recent tasks

Now, perhaps you have a friend coming over and you have been looking through things you don't want him/her seeing (through computer not internet)

This is a quick little step to delete your recent history so they have no way of looking.

Click; Start > Right click > Recent Items > Clear Recent Items List;

There you have it, no worrying about your friend seeing anything embarrassing.
